Today, I'm taking Melanie to the doctor to see about her chest pains. I decided to make an appointment at the hospital clinic in case tests need to be ran. I looked up online what to do and it said she might need an ECG scan.

"Mamma, what if something's wrong with me?" Melanie looked at us with a worried expression, breaking me heart.

"Don't worry about that right now, baby. Just let the doctor check you out first." I said and held her hand as we walked through the doors. I told Melanie to sit in the waiting area as I walked to the front desk.

"Hi, an appointment for Melanie Tweedy," I told the man at the front desk.

"Are you her mother?" He asked after hitting some keys on his computer.

"Yes," I answered and watched him type some more things.

"Okay, the doctor will be out in a few." He told us and I went to sit back down with me daughter.

"They said just a few minutes," I told her and kissed her cheek, seeing her obvious nerves.

"What if I have-" Melanie began but I wouldn't let her finish.

"Would you stop your worrying?" I said and put me arm around her. I leaned her head on me shoulder and kissed the top of her head.

"I'm just nervous." Melanie twitched in her seat and reached out for me free hand. I let her squeeze as tight as possible, knowing that she's super anxious about it.

"Tweedy?" A woman called our name and we both stood up. I walked with Melanie down the hallway with me hand in hers.

"I'm Dr Adams, I'll be taking care of you today." The doctor introduced herself "Okay, I'm just gonna give you a quick checkup." Dr Adams said and began Melanie's checkup. She checked her nose, ears, heartbeat, and throat.

"Alright, so what's been going on?" Dr Adams asked Melanie with a smile. She sat down on her stool and logged into the computer that's sat on the little counter.

"I've had lots of chest pains recently. And the other night when I stood up, I got super dizzy and almost passed out." Melanie explained what she's been going through recently.

"Okay, what do the chest pains feel like?" The doctor asked.

"Like my heart is clenching like a fist. Almost like what heartburn would feel like." Melanie told her and Dr Adams nodded along.

"Okay, I'm gonna go ahead and give you an ECG scan, because I'd hate to have you worry." The doctor kindly checked Melanie out further instead of telling us that we have nothing to worry about.

"What we're gonna do is put these on your chest to read your heart pattern. It'll take about five to ten minutes, depending on how long I need to record it." Dr Adams showed Melanie what's going to happen when she's attached to the machine.

"Just relax, try not to be tense. I know it's a little scary but it'll all be okay." The doctor said as she turned on the machine.

"I'm going to have to ask you to take your jumper off and lay down." Dr Adams said and let Melanie take off her jumper, revealing her sports bra. She laid down and the woman started to attach little sensors to Melanie's chest.
