Jordan
"Jordan?" A voice questioned.
I hummed in response as I felt lips press against mine that surely woke me the fuck up. The full soft lips left mine and I groaned in response. My best guess was JD and if it isn't him when I open my eyes then I am gonna have a major freak out.
"Hey baby will you wake up?" He asked.
"Why we don't even have school?" I groaned.
"You have to get up it's an emergency." He said with a sad tone.
I sat up to find myself laying in JD's bedroom and in his comfortable bed. What was he talking about?
"What do you mean emergency?" I questioned urgently.
"It's your mom." He said looking away from me.
"What the fuck are you talking about?!" I screamed at him.
"What about my mom?!" I yelled even louder than before.
"She was found in your house. um. dead." He said taking long pauses between his words.
"What happened?!" I couldn't even scream as loud as I had wanted because I noticed tears starting to well up in my eyes.
"She overdosed." He said walking away from the bed.
"Where are you going?" I asked him crawling to the edge of the bed crying like a little baby.
"I'm not going anywhere baby I was just giving you space." He said pacing around the room.
"I don't want space." I said holding my arms out for him to walk into and give me the warm heartfelt hug that I knew he could give when needed. He didn't really ever hug anyone else because that would ruin his reputation. But I am his only exception it doesn't matter where we are if I need a hug I always receive one because he is my best friend and always will be no matter what.
*At the morgue*
"Is this your mother?" The examiner asked me while I stood frozen looking through the clear glass window at my deceased mother.
I couldn't say anything because I was in so much pain deep down that I didn't even know if I could talk or move.
Brandon was there and he had the same expression as me. We were so shocked by the sight that we just stopped doing everything.
"Mam?" questioned the examiner.
She glanced at me then Brandon and finally JD.
I was trying to for the words to come out of my mouth but they wouldn't come out it was almost like they were stuck in my throat.
"Yes 'mam that's their mother." I heard JD say because he realized Brandon and I wouldn't be able to get any words out of our mouths.
The examiner nodded in recognition to the woman inside the room and the woman covered my mother back up and walked her into another room somewhere. I just blinked and continue standing there like an idiot.
"Come on." JD ushered me out of the room and out to the parking lot.
"Well sis I guess I'll just catch up with you later?" Brandon asked not even making eye contact with me when he talked.
I didn't say anything to him and just stood there by JD's car.
"Yeah man, I'll make sure she at least calls to tell you she's okay." JD told him as he opened my door for me and I got in as JD walked around the car to get in on the other side.
"You good babe?" JD asked in a low voice which made me feel so safe.
"mhm." I managed to get out.
We drove back to his house since I guess he knew I wouldn't wanna go back home anytime soon.
We pulled up to his house and he opened my door as I stepped out and walked into his house.
The rest of the night was just auto-pilot because I literally didn't remember anything.
