The service wasn't long, and it barely illustrated who Anakin had been. Most of what the commemorator said sounded fake.
Rex was sure that no one missed Anakin because he had ultimately chosen the dark side. But Rex appreciated his former general. He had been a good leader.
But Rex was a killer. He had killed a Jedi. Deep inside him, something said that killing Jedi wasn't wrong. He looked at all the Jedi around him and thought, Traitors.
He shook it away quicky and listened to General Yoda.

Ahsoka lay on a medical bed, pain shooting up and down her body. Her leg ached. Her head ached.
And a presence was missing.
Then it hit her. Anakin was dead. Rex had killed him. She could tell.
And it wasn't fair. Even if Anakin had tried to rape her, even if he had attacked her, there was still a connection. She had cared about her Master. She still did.
Ahsoka broke down and cried. The light was too bright for her eyes. She couldn't open them, but the tears still slipped out.
Kix rushed over to her, but didn't try to calm her down when he realised why she was crying. He put an arm on her shoulder and checked her vitals.
Pictures of her master flashed through her head. A smile flashed during a battle for reassurance. A quick hug to say it was all right. A wish of good luck, may the Force be with you.
Words she'd never hear from Anakin again.

Obi-Wan tried to hide it. He was torn. His Padawan was. . . Gone.
He was sure the Master Windu, next to him, could sense the conflict. He knew that Kit Fisto, on his other side, could.
The green Nautolan flashed him several encouraging looks, mouthed the words, "It'll be alright," and so on ever since he'd shown up at the service. Obi-Wan was a bit sick of it.
Windu, on the other hand, was quiet. He didn't say a word, not the whole time.
And when Palpatine showed up, it turned to chaos. The Chancellor was so angry. The Jedi couldn't even understand why.
