Twenty-two: Payback

"General Kenobi!"

 Obi-Wan heard the angry voice yell his name. The Jedi Master sat up in bed and turned to see Cody standing in the doorway, fists balled.

 "What is it, Commander?"

 Cody stalked over to him and breathed in his face. "What did you do to Commander Tano?"

 Kenobi smiled and shook his head. "To Ahsoka?"

 Cody grabbed Obi-Wan's chin and snarled in his face, "I already know what you did, you asshole. I just wanted to see if you'd admit it."

 Obi-Wan's face hardened. "Cody, it doesn't concern you."

 Cody lost it and punched Kenobi in the side of the head. Kenobi rolled off the bed and groaned. Cody walked over to him and kicked him hard in the stomach.

It was payback time.

Ahsoka realized she could get Cody in trouble, so she wrapped herself in a blanket and walked back down to the cell after she woke up.

 "'Ello," Bane said sleepily.

Ahsoka ordered Waxer to lock her in.

 "Those Jedi," he said, and obeyed .

 "Would you go?"

 "Yes sir."

Alone with Bane, Ahsoka turned around and faced him. He squinted his eyes to look at her.

 "Dat escape plan didn't work so good," he said, putting a hiss on the s's.

 " Nope, " Ahsoka agreed.

 "Come sit wi' me," Bane said, gazing off into space.

 "You sound drunk. "I

"Ain't nothing to get drunk on, girl."

 "That's true," Ahsoka said. 

 "Come here."

 Ahsoka sighed and went over to sit with him. He wanted her between his legs, which Ahsoka found uncomfortable, but she sat the anyway.

 "Sure wish I was loose so I could kiss ya," Bane rumbled.

 " I'm glad you aren't, " Ahsoka said.

 "Why?" Asked Bane .

 "Because you'd already be escaping."

 Bane laughed. Just then, Ahsoka realized her Padawan braid was missing. She caught a glimpse of it on one of the wrist binders. Bane had been fiddling with it.

Suddenly both wrist binders fell to the ground. Bane shook, them stood on his feet. He shot up a corner of the cell, bracing his hands and knees and punching open a ceiling plate. With little visible effort, Bane climbed up and away.

Ahsoka stood there speechless. 

 "You coming?" Bane asked.

 "Right behind you," Ahsoka replied .
