Something about seeing Bane in the place where Ahsoka meant to lay low tipped her over the edge.

Mentally, at least. She didn't want to let it out, of course, but she also didn't want him to think she wasn't mad. He had basically raped her, by Togruta standards, and left her to be found naked in an escape pod. That was an outrage!

Cad Bane sat on the bench next to her, pushing the man's body away with the toe of his boot.

"You ain't being very careful, kid," he said. Ahsoka snorted.

"I was fine before you came along." She took a drink of her soda and glared at him.

 "Of course," he said.

Ahsoka scooted a little closer to him so she could speak in his ear.

"Why did you abandon me like that?"

Cad shook his head and waved a serving droid over. "I didn't. I was going to come back, but when I did, you were gone."

Ahsoka dug her nails into her arm. "If you didn't abandon me, then where did you go?"

Cad looked over his shoulder twice before answering. "I know I'm wanted, but if those clones had caught you on my ship, Id've been sent to the absolute strongest locking place they got, and I didn't want to take no chances."

Ahsoka glanced at him sideways. He looked down at her and adjusted his hat.

"So it was clones?" She asked .

 "Yeah, that's what I said."

Ahsoka nearly hissed with annoyance. "And you put me in an escape pod and turned on the distress signal?"

"Nah, I just put you in the pod and ejected all of 'em. You mightta done the signal yourself."

 "Asleep?" Ahsoka asked, doubting him.

Cad shrugged. "It really doesn't matter now."

She glared at him. "I disagree with that statement. . ."

 The Duros shrugged again.

And then a clone's voice rang out, "We're doing a search of the building. Please remain where you are."

 Commander Fox walked in.
