"Open it up, Markus!" I yelled.
I led everyone into the opening court, leaving them to look around.
I grabbed my walkie-talkie, " Everyone in processing?" I asked.
"Yep!"
"Yes."
"Have to be."
I turned to everyone, "Ok, Dylan, Eric, and Natan, you're free to go, maybe tell Izzy about them," I jabbed my thumb in Zaire and Aliza's direction, " You guys, follow me."
I opened the door and led them into the first part of processing.
"Did you guys build these buildings?" Aliza asked, looking around in awe.
"Yep," I answered, "Now, this is part one out of three in the whole processing deal."
Amy, the main instructor, began telling them about what will happen, " Alright, in here we're gonna let you guys have a shower, since it looks like ya'll haven't showered in a while. Then, we're gonna need to do a quick blood test, we won't get any answers today, but we use this to learn about any illnesses you may have."
"What size are you guys?" I asked.
"I'm a four in pants and a small," Aliza answered.
"Um, I think an eight in pants and a large, not sure though," Zaire said.
"No problem, you guys can go looking for new clothes after you get settled," Amy reassured them.
Amy pointed to the row of doors, "Just pick a room and take a shower, brush your teeth, anything else you would need to do. We'll leave some clothes in there for you," She said.
Shortly after they entered, Zaire and Aliza exited the bathrooms looking like new people. Their hair no longer looked a mess, Aliza's was now in a ponytail, which, in my opinion, made her look way older than she was.
"You guys didn't mention the hot water," Zaire said with a smile.
"We like to surprise people," Amy stated.
"Who's ready for needles!" I said sarcastically.
Amy led them into her office and they returned shortly after.
"So I have O- blood?" Aliza asked.
"Yep, the universal donor!" Amy said cheerfully.
Zaire turned to me, "What's next?"
"Weapons check," I answered.
I opened the door and said my goodbye to Amy, who would probably end up taking her break for the day.
"A shooting range?" Zaire asked.
"I gotta test ya to see what you got," I stated.
"Even her?" He pointed to Aliza.
"You wanna try?" I asked.
"Not really," She answered.
"Ok, you can go through that door, a girl named Mary will ask you some questions," I said.
I turned back to Zaire, "I'm gonna need to take any weapopns you have," I stated.
"Really?" He asked.
"It's just a safety procedure, only guards can carry," I stated. "And me of course."
"Alright," He said handing me his pistol.
"Now," I said, " Take this and shoot at the targets," I handed him another pistol.
"Why couldn't I just use my own?" He asked.
"Number 1, that's a Luger pistol, very delicate, could break easily when out there, but a stable and modern pistol, let's say this Walther P99, can beat the Luger in almost all sections," I stated.
"How do you know so much about guns?" He asked.
"You pick up on this kind of stuff out here in this time," I answered.
Zaire turned towards the targets, " So I just shoot?"
"Yep, four shots, I'll grade ya on that," I stated.
Zaire cocked the pistol and shot his four bullets quickly, all of them landing near the center of the target.
I nodded my head, "Not bad, but we'll get you on the center soon," I stated.
"Let's go get questioned," I said.
I led him through the last door and let him start talking to Mary, who had already finished asking Aliza the questions. Mary is a psychologist, or was, but she says that these questions can reveal a lot about people.
They go something like this:
1. How many people have you killed?
2. What's the most important thing to you?
3. What do you want to be remembered for?
4. If you could, would you want to know when you die or where?
5. Do you think crying is a sign of weakness or strength?
I think she has different ones for kids, at least I hope, kids don't really need to think about death.
Mary ran through the rest of the questions with Zaire and We all said our goodbyes as I led them to the housing building, where everyone in the community stayed.
"Do I get my own room?" Aliza asked.
"Yep," I said.
"Can I paint it?"
