"Here it is!" Diesel said walking through the door.
"What happened to twelve on the dot?" I asked.
I looked at his hands and in it was a tape recorder, and my face fell, "You. did. not."
"Oh but I did. Come, come. I wanna show you three this." He said.
"You can't make us watch this," Dylan said.
"Guys!" Diesel yelled. "Come on in."
On his command, three men with guns walked into the room, pointing the guns at our heads.
"You sick fuck," I muttered.
Diesel laughed and crouched down in front of us, making sure we were able to see the tiny screen.
"Now, I'm gonna need you two to stay quiet during this," He stated. "If they move one bit, shoot them."
He turned on the recorder and pressed the play button on the video.
The camera was shaking slightly, giving off that found-film feeling that you would get from a movie.
It seemed that the man was standing in the woods that was straight across from one of the holes, where everyone who was killed earlier was alive and laughing while working on the hole.
"One," The man behind the camera whispered, "two, three."
Men started running out, including Eric. They started running at them, shooting with silenced pistols, while Eric ran for Izzy, who had a look of shock on her face.
"Eric?!" She asked shocked.
I looked up at Eric who was standing in front of us.
We mad eye contact and my breathing began to get heavier when I heard Izzy faint scream.
Diesel had noticed my lack of attention and slapped me in the face, "Eyes on here."
The camera had moved up and had been standing behind Eric. He sat on top of her, bring his hand up and down into her stomach over and over again.
I closed my eyes tightly to stop any tears from leaving my eyes, opening them quickly after.
"Great," My voice said.
When they heard my voice, the men ran back into the woods, and that's where the video ended.
"So, what did you think of our little mini-movie?" Diesel asked.
I glanced over at Dylan, who was staring at the ground, his eyes red.
He crouched down in front of me, "Did you hear me?" He asked. "What did you think of our movie?"
"You are a dead man, Diesel," I said quietly.
He leaned closer, holding his hand to his ear, "Sorry, couldn't quite hear you there."
I straightened and looked him in the eyes, "You are a dead man," I said louder.
"I take that as you are not gonna wanna hear what I was planning on saying to you, so I'm just gonna jump to the end of the conversation I had planned," He said.
"War. We're going to war. Until every last one of you is dead," I said before he could say anything.
Dylan looked over at me, a worried look on his face.
"Your buddy doesn't look like he agrees with your words, Jaiden," Diesel stated.
"Doesn't matter," I stated. "I'll go to war alone if it means you end up dead in the end."
"Doesn't that negate the whole 'until every last one of you is dead' thing?" He asked.
"Three days. That's all you get," I spit.
"I could get a lot done in three days," Diesel said.
I stood up, "We're leaving. That big ass field by the highway is where it's happening. You have one side, we have the other, no snipers, no sneak attacks, we do this fair."
I grabbed Dylan by the shirt and walked towards the door and eventually out of the gates and into our car.
"What did you just do?" He asked.
"What did I do? I just started something that can end all of our problems!" I yelled.
"I get it, Izzy's death was fucking hard, but you have lost your mind on this one," He stated.
I rested my elbow on the window, "Listen, I'm the one that makes the decisions now, It's either you're with me or you're not. We have an army of people that know how to fight back at camp, so I don't think it would matter that much if one person stayed behin--"
Dylan pushed his face closer to mine, pressing his lips to mine before pulling away, not even giving me time to process what had just happened.
He turned in his seat and started the car, letting it sit there before driving away.
ΞΞΞ
We had been driving back now for a couple hours, more than it took us to get here.
Dylan had not said anything to me after he kissed me, leaving us in an awkward silence.
"Why would you do that?" I asked breaking the silence.
"What?" He asked, seeming to break out of a trance.
"I was screaming at you," I said.
He shrugged and kept his eyes on the road.
"Fine. We can keep this silence going until we get back and get this whole thing in order, but when I get the time, we are talking about this," I stated.
"Got it." He said.
