The past day for me and a few others were spent cleaning out Izzy's room in order for me to move in.
That woman had a lot of clothes for an apocalypse.
Also, the people who deal with the dead had cleared Izzy for one of those viewing things.
The funeral is tomorrow.
So here I am, sitting in my office and going through the drawers of the desk trying to get things into my order.
Izzy never kept anything organized, and surprisingly for my wild and bold personality, I liked to know where everything is instead of having to search for everything when I needed it.
A knock sounded on the door, "Come in," I stated.
The doorknob twisted and Nathan walked in, a piece of paper folded in his hand.
I nodded my head at it, "If it's a letter from one of the people just put it in the pile."
He shook his head, "Six found it over by Izzy's body," He said.
"You read it?" I asked.
"We're always supposed to give it to you first, or at least that's what Izzy wanted," He said.
I stood up from the chair, "Right, sorry. I'm not even here." I grabbed the letter from his hand, "It was in the pile of bodies, I saw it."
I picked off the tape and opened the letter, "What do you think it is for," Nathan stated.
I nodded my head and looked over the letter, focusing on the letter that sat at the end in fancy cursive,
D.
"Well, It was them," I stated.
He straightened, "What did they say?"
I threw it on the desk, "Didn't read it yet, but D signed it."
"Get Dylan on the radio and get him to check on the left side on all the posts, make sure they have ammo, semi-auto or auto guns. You do the right. Also, get everyone that will be switching into watch into the cafeteria and let them know of this and that they do not leave the post without their fill-ins right next to them. Fill everyone on watch in about this," I ordered.
He nodded his head and stuck out his bottom lip a bit, "What's that look for?" I asked.
"You're gonna be good at this," He stated.
"Get going," I said.
I sat down in the chair as he left and grabbed the letter, finally reading over it.
Dear Izzy,
Hey Jaiden, wanted to piss you off a bit before we get into the juicy stuff.
What's it like losing your leader?
Feel good?
Anyway, I want you and one of your minions to meet me at my outpost, I know that you know the location, so there should be no lateness for this meeting.
12:00p.m.
On the dot
Don't be late
D.
"Goddammit," I muttered.
I set the letter back on the desk and grabbed my radio, "Dylan."
"Hey, I just got around to the second hole in the wall, if that's what you're checking on," He stated, clearly out of breath.
"Be ready to leave tomorrow at 8:00 for a little meeting," I stated.
