Chapter 15: I'm sorry, Soonyoung

Jihoon's POV

  Why?! Why did he leave me like that?! Jihoon yelled internally. His mind went back to the event of last night:

"Jihoon... I love you." He got up from where he was sitting and walked over to Jihoon. He placed a soft, quick peck on his forehead and quickly ran up to his room, slamming the door behind him.

Jihoon didn't know how to take it in. He just sat there re-thinking what had just happened. He knew that he wouldn't be able to face the older in the morning.

Should I give him a chance? Would it be the right thing to do?

At the moment, Jihoon was laying in his bed. He pretended to have morning sickness, so he could stay home. His mom told him that he shouldn't stay home a lot and miss school because after birth he would have to rest at home.

Not only was he getting time to think about what happened, but also to get more sleep. He couldn't go to sleep because of what happened. Nothing could get his mind off of it.

Jihoon ended up falling asleep. He dreamt a rather disturbing dream.

"Soonyoung?" He called out. They were in Soonyoung's room. It was pretty dark.

"Yeah." The older appeared in front of him out of no where.

"Jihoon... I love you. Will you be my boyfriend?"

"Yes."

Just like that time seemed to have skipped in his dreams because they were now in an apartment of their own. They had a child that was about four years old.

"I can't stand this anymore!"

An image of the two yelling at each other with angry faces came into view.

Jihoon heard himself tell. "Maybe I shouldn't have said yes!"

"I don't get why you fooled me into thinking you loved me! The fact that you lied to me for four and a half years hurts me most! If you didn't love me, why did you say yes!" Tears we're streaming down his face.

"I thought we could work out, but I guess it didn't!"

"I should've left you when I found out you were cheating on me! I guess I was too blind to notice! If you want I can leave!"

Jihoon looked at him in shock, but then stared at him with a serious face. "Then leave."

It was now Soonyoung's turn to look shocked. "What?"

"You heard me. Leave!"

"Mommy?... Daddy?... What's going on?" A little boy was walking up to them rubbing his left eye with his small hands.

"Da-eun go back to sleep."

"But what is going on? Why were you two yelling? Is Daddy going to leave us?! Don't leave us! Don't you love us anymore?!" Da-eun ran to Soonyoung and hugged his legs.

"I do, baby, I do." The older said, bending down and whispering into his child's ears. "Me and your mommy aren't getting along so I have to leave."

"Are you coming back?"

"No, baby." Soonyoung said before leaving.

"This is all your fault, mama! He didn't have to leave if you had stopped him! It's all your fault!"

Jihoon woke up sobbing with a racing heart. The little boy's voice rang in his head, 'It's all our fault!'. He didn't want that to happen. Never.

I'm sorry, Soonyoung, but I can't let that happen.

Time skip

Once again, Jihoon waited for Soonyoung to come home. Since he talked to Mr. Lee, he had put in extra hours.

He heard the door open and shut, someone climb up the stairs, and open the room a few steps further down. Jihoon opened the door and ran to Soonyoung's room.

"Soonyoung? Can we talk about what happened yesterday?"

"I don't know what you mean. We should go to sleep." The older didn't even face him.

"Soonyoung... I might not love or like you the way you do to me. I would give you a chance, but I don't want to complicate things in the future if something were to happen. I respect your feelings. I hope you can respect mine."

He looked at Soonyoung nervously who didn't say anything for a while. But then, he spoke some painful words Jihoon had never heard from him.

"It's fine. I knew you wouldn't love me back." He said painfully. He chuckled bitterly, too. "I mean I've loved you for a long while now. You just met me. What I was expecting was a miracle. Am I right?"

His smile hurt Jihoon. A smile that hurt him. Funny. They're supposed to be happy and bright, not sad and bitter. But then again, that's too stereotypical.

"Goodnight."

The door was shut in his face as tears slowly fell down his cheeks. He had never meant to hurt Soonyoung so much, but to him it's seemed ideal to turn him down.

I'm sorry, Soonyoung.
