Chapter 25: Murder attempt

Jihoon's POV

  Jihoon had forgotten about his Math textbook in his locker, so he was retrieving it. He convinced Soonyoung that he didn't need any assistance, since he was only getting a textbook.

  When he got to his locker, he tore off the sticky notes attached to and through them away at the nearest bin. When he was returning back to the locker someone pushed him, making him fall to the ground.

  Jihoon was used to this. What he wasn't used to was someone giving him a hand in getting up. He looked at the owner of the one who helped him up and saw Jungkook.

  "I saw Soonyoung and you talking, and, when you left, I went up to Soonyoung and introduced myself. I told him if I could follow you to make sure you were alright, which he agreed to let me do so." The younger boy said.

  Jihoon let out a sigh. "I'm not surprised at all. Well, I'm just getting my textbook. I don't know if you want to head back."

  "No, it's fine. I'll stick around for a bit. I really don't like my next class anyway." Jungkook said, rubbing his neck and smiling a little.

  Jihoon let out a chuckle, opened his locker to see another sticky note, and read it.

  Come to the rooftop if you want your textbook back. You know you'll get punished if you don't bring it. Especially now, when almost every teacher doesn't like you. You better come alone.

- Jiyeong

  Both boys looked at it and then at each other. They stood there for a few seconds before Jihoon spoke.

  "She's right. I can't go to class without it. I'd have to get it from her."

  "What if she does something?"

  "If you want, stand behind the door to the rooftop and listen. If you hear something strange go on, run downstair and get Soonyoung."

  "Okay."

  They proceeded towards the rooftop where Jiyeong waited. When they got there, only Jihoon went through the door as Jungkook stood behind it.

  "I'm here as you asked." Jihoon said in a bored tone. "Can you give me my textbook now?"

  "No." The girl stated.

  "Why not?" Jihoon was beyond annoyed. Still, nervousness and anxiety pricked at him.

  "I want that baby to die."

  "What?!"

  "That child was a mistake, am I right? So, why are you carrying a heavy burden like that?"

  "Our child isn't a burden. He convinced me that I shouldn't make an innocent child for their parents mistake."

  "Why do you always have to protect him?! Look at what he's done to you! He's made you the most HATED person in the entire school!"

  "Soonyoung isn't responsible for what other people think! I've grown to attached to our baby to give him or her up!"

  "'Our child', 'Our baby', 'our', 'our', 'our'. I hate that you refer to it as both your's and his. He's the one who wanted it first, so say 'his'."

  "Do you not here me! I want this child as much as he does!" Jihoon's blood ran cold as he saw the object Jiyeong had pulled out of her pocket.

  "If you won't get rid of that mistake, then I will!" She cackled and was stepping toward the pregnant boy.

  "Stop, please don't do this! People are going to find out! You'll become a murderer!"

  "I don't care! I should've been the one giving you a child! I was the one who should've been pregnant!"

  "You need help! Your insane!"

  "No, I'm not! If you had loved me, this wouldn't have happened!" Suddenly, Jiyeong ran at him.

  Jihoon didn't know what to do. It's like time had frozen him. He couldn't move even though he was yelling at his brain to make his limbs move.

  The two, who were arguing, were so caught up in the moment that they never heard banging on the door and then bursting open.

  Soonyoung pushed Jiyeong away from Jihoon to the floor. "Run, Jihoon!" The older yelled.

  Jungkook, who had been the Soonyoung, took Jihoon by the hand and downstairs. "I knew I had a bad feeling about her, so I called the emergency number just in case. They should be here any second now."

  "Wait!" Jihoon said pulling his hand away from the taller. "What about Soonyoung? He's up there alone and she's... she's capable of anything!"

  "Jihoon, calm down."

  It was too late. Jihoon went back upstairs as quickly as he could. But the scene he saw when he got up there, wasn't one he ever wished to see.

  Soonyoung was fighting Jiyeong with a bleeding hand, close to the edge of the school's roof. Then, Jiyeong pushed him. As for Soonyoung, he reached out blindly for something to hold, and he took the She-devil with him.

  Jihoon was trying to run back downstairs and outside of the building to know what happened to them. To his relief he saw the fire department with an inflatable where both Soonyoung and Jiyeong lay. Soonyoung was the first one to get off of the inflatable.

  Jihoon went over to the older and hugged him. "You scared me you idiot!" Tears we're rolling down the small boys cheeks. He couldn't stop them from coming out even though he didn't want to cry.

  "I'm sorry I worried you." Soonyoung murmured in his ear while stroking the smaller's head with his non-bloody hand.

  "Hey, kid, I need to look at your hand." One of the medics, that was there at the scene, gave him a check up and bandaged his cut.

  As for Jiyeong, she was arrested by the cops. She was sentenced to jail for attempt of murder. The kids and teachers were standing outside of the school, watching what was going on.

  The principle said that he would talk to the girl's parents and that it would be best for them to explain what happened.

  He also apologized for not being more aware of the students actions and said that he would punish anyone who messed with them, but Soonyoung and Jihoon said that it was fine.

  But, there was one thing they could thank Jiyeong for.

After that day, everyone at school didn't bother them anymore.
