(So I was looking through my book, and I totally forgot another detail that's important. Sorry. I'm having some trouble remembering that even though I now the entire story, you guys don't. So if your bored out of your bonkers, you can look throughout the entire book. So forgive me, and sorry for the wait I had the chapter written and I forgot to hit the save button before exiting out of wattpad so I had to rewrite it. But here it is. -fangirl9943😘Ok bye.)

The van rocked back and forth over the highway. Silence polluted the air and no one was interacting with another. The usual chatter and feet tapping was extinct. Coulsen sat in the driver's seat looking in the mirror every so often to see Fitz and Simmons reading a book or shooting quick glances at another, while Zoë just stared at the floor. A blank expression covered her face, and a cloud covered her eyes like she was under her own telepathic power. The windows that should be in the van were not there for safety reasons, and learning about the three kids who died did not make Zoë feel like chatting up a storm.

Coulsen could sense the tension in the air. Fitz and Simmons weren't talking science, there was no brewing conversation, breathing was just barely heard, something was up. And he didn't like it.

"So kiddo, you've got all your stuff packed up right?" Coulsen said looking in the mirror at Zoë. She didn't lift her head, didn't flinch, just replied yes and continued to stare at the floor of the van.

Can't anyone tell I'm not in the chitchat mood? Zoë thought. I can't believe grandpa kept a secret from me. These kinds of thoughts kept her busy so she didn't want to talk.

Coulsen got the message. He continued to drive from MI to the NY. No words were spoke. No signs of living people were visible from the silent back. Coulsen let a small sigh break the silence.

This is going to be a loooooong drive.

After a hour of dead silence, Fizt cleared his throat and scratched his head. "How long until we're gettin' there? 8,9 hours?"

"More like 15. Unless we stop at a hotel for the night. Study up on your geography Fizt. It might come in handy." Simmons said with a straight face. She pulled a book out of her hand bag by the floor and started to read. Fizt sighed. "Are we stoppin' at a hotel Coulsen?"

"It would be a good idea. We left the house at around noon and it's 6:30 now. We'll stop and eat someplace fast then check in a hotel. Somewhere without bed bugs this time."

Simmons shuddered and Zoë just looked grossed out.

Fizt out his hands on his head.

"15 hours of silence," he said, "Fun fun fun."

Zoë's POV

After the greatest car ride ever, we stopped at a McDonalds (nasty but satisfying) for a quick dinner. It was not anyone's first choice but Coulsen said we need to stay undercover. When I asked why he said that if anyone recognized us we would be in trouble. When we were walking up to the building Coulsen put a hand on my shoulder and stopped me from walking in. "Do you need something?" I questioned. He looked around and then pulled something out of his coat pocket. "Put these on."

In his hand were the darkest pair of sunglasses I ever saw. "You want me to wear those in a building? I thought the point of stopping here was not to be noticed!" I whisper screamed.

"Just put them on!" he whisper screamed back.

Fine then. I snatched the glasses away and put them on my face. He nodded and we walked into the fast food joint. We ordered our food and while Coulsen was paying for it Fizt and Simmons went back to the van but I had to use the bathroom. I walked past the tables and went in and out of the bathroom as fast as I could.

When I was walking back I noticed a guy sitting at a table.

Alone.

With a laptop.

But that wasn't the weird part.

He was warring an ear piece thing that you see in Young Justice and other shows with communicators.

And he was wearing sunglasses as dark as mine. And he was wearing a jacket with a red skull on it. Creepy.

When I walked past he touched his ear communicator and said something in some foreign language, then typed something on his laptop.

Ok, extreme suspicion here.

"Coulsen!! Coulsen!!" I ran up to him and began to pull on his sleeves. He's only about a half inch taller than me, so I felt kinda stupid pulling on a guys sleeve whose about the same height as me, but I was kinda panicking. "COULSEN!"

He thanked the person behind the counter and grabbed the food bag. He was totally ignoring me. When he was walking out of there, sunglasses guy got up with his laptop and followed us out. If I was watching a movie I would be yelling at the screen about now. I needed Coulsen to look at me.

"PHIL!" He finally turned around and looked at me. "What?" he said clearly annoyed. I gestured behind us to sunglasses guy and Coulsen's eyes got as big as dinner plates. He grabbed my arm and we ran to the van. He revved the engine and sped away. Fizt slammed against the van and hit his head really hard. Simmons grabbed the seat she was sitting on and her knuckles turned white. Fizt groaned and spat out,

"What the heck Phil?!? I thought we were supposed to be blending in!! Not getting a speeding ticket!!"

Coulsen (Who is Phil in case you weren't getting that) looked in the rear view mirror and then looked at us. He then drove on a back road and was going even faster than before. Gosh, I guess McDonalds is a scary place for Coulsen-or he saw sunglasses guy and knew something I didn't. Probably the second.

"Zoë saw a Hydra agent while we were in there. It was Ward."

Fizt got pale and Simmons looked shocked. I on the other hand had no idea who Ward was. Other than he was a bad guy and they knew him.

"Umm, sorry but whose Ward?" I asked.

"Ward was a S.H.I.E.L.D agent. He was on my team. What we didn't know was that he was a double agent. The now head director of Hydra found him before we did and trained him to be a traitor. He betrayed us to Hydra and put all members if S.H.I.E.L.D in danger. I trusted him, and he took my trust and threw it in my face. He could be described with a few colorful choice words." Coulsen looked really really ticked. I didn't want to say anything to make him more mad, so I just leaned back and sat in silence.

"We need to make are he isn't following us. Then we can find a decent hotel and take a rest." Coulsen added. Silence once again clouded the van until Fizt said, "Did you get the food?" Coulsen basically threw the bag to is and we began to eat in silence.

So this is what it's like to be an agent.

Scary fun.
