"Have we begun to drift away?  Have we learned from our mistakes?  Who will be the one to save our destiny?" ~ Our Destiny

*Katrina's POV*

It'd been nearly an hour since LynZ had brought me to the Command Center and I'd been reunited with the guys.  I gave Ashley a huge hug when he came back in, admitting that I'd missed him terribly.  After that we all circled up around the worn out table, maps and battle strategies strewn across it.  I was tired, but I was in a lot better health than I was even a few hours prior, so I wasn't concerned.

"Shouldn't you go back to the infirmary to rest?" Andy asked me before we started.  I shook my head.

"I'm already doing better than I was, so my rest can wait.  We need to withdraw our forces and debrief first."

"And if she goes," CC butted in the conversation, "You should too, dude.  You got an injured shoulder."

"Wait what?" I asked in concern, turning to look at Andy.

"I got shot in the shoulder," he said nonchalantly.  "It's already been patched up so I'll be fine."

I frowned, eyebrows knitting together.  "Let me heal it," I demanded.  "I have enough energy to do it."

"No," he shook his head.

"Andy I'm serious, I have the strength."

"It's not that I don't believe you," he said, grabbing my good hand in his.  "It's just that you need to focus your energy on healing yourself first.  You're in a much worse condition than I am.  I can deal with a bad shoulder for a while, but you have multiple broken bones, lacerations, and you've been practically starved.  You need more attention than I do."

I sighed.  "Okay," I seceded.  "You're right."

"Are we ready to begin?" Gerard asked, stepping into the tent, leather jacket on.  He came to stand around the table with the rest of us.

I noticed suddenly that a leather jacket, adorned with the Mourning star and likely other ornaments, had become a sort of uniform of status among the Legion.  The only people who wore leather jackets in the Legion were the Wild Ones, the few other members of the command unit, namely Gerard and LynZ, and the heads of Rank 3 Divisions.  It wasn't intended this way, but leather jackets weren't easy to come by, so when they were found, they just ended up being given to the leaders.  In a way, the thought was amusing to me, and I adjusted my own jacket sleeves with a small smile as Gerard began to speak.

"Our forces are retreating from the East side of the city and they'll rendezvous with us at point B.  They've reported only a few casualties, but they do have injured.  Getting us all back to the HQ is going to be difficult."

"How many injured?" Jinxx asked.

"Well we have 17 here, and they reported they have about 8 with them."

"So 25 overall?  How many people did you send in for the diversion attack?" I asked.

"Sixty."

I sighed.  "That's nearly 50%."

"But there's only 4 casualties.  That's a lot better of an outcome than when we were attacked, and we got you out of the city."

"It doesn't matter.  Even 4 is too many.  You should've never risked coming after me."

"Kat-" Jake tried.

"No Jake.  You guys know it's the truth.  4 casualties and 25 injuries is far too high a price for one person.  The Legion is too vulnerable to take such risks!"
