"This is the calm before the coming storm. This is the red sky morning without warning now. This is the fight that we've been waiting for. And there's no sense in running, the hammer's coming down." ~ The Hammer's Coming Down - Nickelback (song linked above)

*Andy's POV*
It was silent as we drove home. There was no need for words, we were just thinking about the events of today.
I had really bad feeling about what just happened. I couldn't tell you why, but something just wasn't right. But whatever it was, it wasn't over. There was something else to come, a second step, as the President had said.
I guess part of my unease came from the fact that we hadn't known anything about it until it was knocking on our door. It was like they were trying to keep it a secret. I mean it's not like I get into politics very much, I normally only hear what's on the news. But I assumed that this would've been a headliner from day one, so I doubted anyone had known anything about it.
I thought back to the white room I'd been seated in, answering questions. Some of them were almost too personal. I wondered how they could possibly help the government and why the hell they needed to know so much about me and my personality. And after all those questions, the ID card was quite plain; not even a name was written on it, only a number, picture, and a dot code. Nothing more. What was all the questions for then?
[Are you able to control any sort of magic in any way?]
That was one of the questions I'd been asked. Of course, my answer was no.
I honestly hadn't heard any mention of magic in a long time. It was years ago that it had become common knowledge that it existed, mostly because of the Oracle. The Oracle was basically a neutral magical being of some sort. I didn't know much about it, but apparently magic was a part of nature and all humans had magic in them, they just couldn't control it. Very few were able to control it, and so far I'd only heard of girls controlling it, witches. To be perfectly honest, it sounded like a bunch of bullshit to me. I was yet to see magic actually performed, other than those magician acts that you see all over LA.
The last time I'd heard anything regarding magic was several years ago when a girl, or supposedly witch, was given a death sentence for killing a bunch of people and bringing them back to life. She did it to like fifteen people before she got caught because she was wiping her victims' memory. She got the death sentence for murder, unverified magic usage and for wiping people's memory, which is apparently illegal. The poor girl was only 16.
I pushed the thoughts of the day from my head and focused on the road ahead as I turned the radio on. I listened and watched Katrina mouth the words to a song I recognized to be by Nickelback called Edge Of A Revolution.
(A/N I recommend actually reading the lyrics if you don't know the song. It's kind of important in a way)
Head high, protest line
"Freedom" scribbled on your sign
Headline, New York Times
Standing on the edge of a revolutionHey, hey, just obey.
Your secret's safe with the NSA
In God we trust or the CIA?
Standing on the edge of a revolutionYeah, we're standing on the edge of a revolution
Revolution, revolution, revolutionNo, we won't give up, we won't go away
'Cause we're not about to live in this mass delusion
No, we don't wanna hear another word you say
'Cause we know they're all depending on mass confusion
No, we can't turn back, we can't turn away
'Cause it's time we all relied on the last solution
No, we won't lay down and accept this fate
'Cause we're standing on the edge of a revolution
