"And then we need to get some school supplies for both of them," I reminded.
"How are you guys on the whole idea of transferring?" Jack asked.
"We were ready when you took us in dad."
"Really?"
"Our old elementary sucked anyways."
"Good to know," I hummed as we walked into a large store.
"Dad, up!" Lily asked as we walked in.
"Okay." I picked her up and we continued to walk around. We browsed some backpacks and Mark immediately found one he liked. It was white and blue with Lance from Voltron on it.
Good tastes.
Good tastes.
Lily didn't take long either. She liked the pretty green backpack with pink, purple and white flowers on it.
We gathered paper and pens, and all that before going to the front counter. The people seemed to recognize me, and Jack as well, but were confused by the addition of kids. They didn't say anything right away though.
"I'll be the coolest kid in class!" Mark exclaimed happily.
"You sure will." I joked as Jack payed for it.
"So... um...," the cashier started, "friends kids?"
"They're ours. Why do you ask?"
"Well, it's kinda sudden.
"Maybe, but they're our life now."
Jack got his receipt and grabbed the bags, "let's head back to the car."
"Got it! You guys ready to go?"
"Yup!" They exclaimed. We grabbed out things and headed out, talking with each other. I was still holding Lily and Mark was skipping besides Jack.
When we got into the car, I let out a soft sigh.
"I hope they'll be alright in school."
"Kids aren't are mean as adults."
"True," I hummed, "But I still worry."
"We'll be fine dad!" Mark assured.
I smiled, "I'm sure you will. I'm just a tad paranoid."
"Paranoid?" Lily repeated.
"It means that you're worried someone is always out to do you wrong."
"Oooh!"
"Let's get home, unless you want to go anywhere else?"
"We could all catch a movie." I suggested.
"What about the zoo!" The kids exclaimed.
"It's been awhile since i went to the zoo."
"Same here," jack muttered.
I grinned, "Zoo it is then!"
"Yay!" The two kids screamed happily.
So we drove to the local zoo. It was luckily a warm day and the zoo didn't seem all that crowded.
We bought tickets with a few strange looks casted towards us. We didn't mind them as we headed in. Lily was riding on Jack's shoulders, so she's be able to see better, and Mark was skipping happily from exhibit to exhibit.
We stopped at the lion exhibit to take a rest since there were seats to watch the proud creatures.
Mark sat beside me and Lily sat in Jack's lap, and I beside Jack.
