I paced back and forth in the waiting room, my mom sitting there with me.

"Honestly, you've been together for years, don't be so worried."

"I know, I know. It's just, there's so many people and now Jack is going to be Jack King and I'm kinda freaking out since all my dreams are coming true."

"You're rambling a bit."

"I'm sorry, could you give me a minute alone?"

"Alright. I'll knock when it's time to leave. I'll be talking to a few people." My mom left the room  and I continued to pace, stopping in front of a mirror.

White tux with a blue handkerchief sticking out of the pocket and an old, black tie the belonged to my father, a new silver pin attached to it.

My mom wanted some traditions I suppose.

I was worried, and I didn't know why.

"Hey little bro, why so anxious?" I froze, seeing behind me in the mirrors reflection.

Dan.

He didn't look like Dan. His hair was brown and his eyes were almost a scary blue, and he was wearing a tight fitting black shirt with a red tie, leaning against the now closed door.

"Thought you said you w-"

"I came to see your wedding and to congratulate you, not to kidnap you. Don't worry."

"Oh..."

"Makes me kinda sad to see you getting married. You're handsome. I'm sure dad would be proud." I looked at the ground, holding back tears at the mention of dad.

Over ten years later and it still hurt.

"Why are you anxious in the first place? You and Jack love each other."

"We do, and that's not why I'm worried. It's just that, it all seems too perfect. Like something bad will happen."

Dan laughed, "you're kidding. That's why you're anxious. God's paying you back for all those years of neglect. This is your day. Be happy."

"It's weird, hearing that from you."

"I can imagine. Oh, and I'll be calling myself Shane Kyle today. So if you hear that name, it's me."

"Don't do anything stupid."

"Neither do you. Mom should be coming back in a few, so I'll take my leave." He left as quickly as he came, and I smiled, feeling relaxed.

I still hated what he did, but he somehow made me calm in the same way Jack did.

As predicted, my mom came back a few minutes later, smiling at me, and I followed her out, the two of us walking arm in arm outside to the large garden where we were holding the wedding.

We never really discussed with others why we choose this large garden out in the middle of Michigan, but Jack and I had a memory here, one that I never wanted to forget.

After everything that happened with Dan, we had come here for a movie shoot, talked about the kids, the wedding, everything, and we camped out under the stars.

I smiled as I followed the trail of roses leading to the arrangement, and I could already see the rows upon rows of people getting up, turning towards me. I saw Dan, standing between two of Jack's coworkers, and he smiled for me, and I looked toward the front, seeing Lily standing next to Mark, both by Jack's side.

Jack was...

He was gorgeous. He was a dream.

He aged well.
