I don't know how much time had passed.
I looked around, feeling a headache coming soon. The place around me became blurred and my body became a bit sore. I felt like I was going to pass out during the game. The hallways were spinning and became a bit hard for me to look at.
Squinting my eyes, I looked around the hallway, panting for a bit and leaned on the wall for support. The girl stopped infront of me, a worried look plastered on her face. She then realized that I was a bit tired to continue. She then approached me, looking up.
"Can you still follow me, mister?" she asked as I nodded. No, I can't give up. I can rest later if I want to. I need to finish this dare. I looked down at her, seeing her innocent eyes looking behind me. Gasping and widening her eyes, she then ran once again — mentioning me to follow her.
I could hear laughter behind me, getting louder and louder, making me breathe deeply before running once again to follow the little girl. I am not going to die. Not right now anyway.
"Follow me, mister!" I heard her telling me before running into another direction. I don't really know if I should follow her or not but knowing that the boys from before could kill me, I had no choice but to run and follow.
We then turned right as she went inside a room, opening the door for me. I quickly went inside before closing the door behind me. I then heard a series of footsteps running down the hallway followed by sudden silence in the air.
I pant, looking around the room to check if there was something useful. Seeing something glint on the corner of my eye, I walked towards it. The girl nodded as I picked up a shiny key that looked like it was newly polished.
"I cleaned it up for you, mister." I looked back to see the girl sitting on a chair. She then smiled before looking at the door.
"Thanks," I said before putting the key on my pockets. I then looked at the watch, seeing that I still have five minutes to catch my breath. Knitting my eyebrows in confusion, I then asked her.
"Why are you helping me?" I asked her as she looked back at me. She then gave me a sweet smile before answering.
"You remind me of my brother, that's why." I looked at her before looking down at the floor. This girl was probably a kindergarten student back in the 1990's. She probably had a brother who also studied here.
I quickly snapped out of my trance when I saw her stand up, looking at me with a determined look. "Are you ready to go, mister?"
I then nodded as she opened the door and ran. I quickly followed her as she bolted downstairs. I then saw her stop, her hands trembling for a bit. I stopped behind her and saw two boys grinning.
"Sakura, you're not helping our victim, are you?" they both asked simultaneously, making me nervous. Their grins became sinister and quite wider as she then backed away, looking at me with a sad look plastered on her face.
"She's in the infirmary, mister. I'll hold them off for you," she said before charging over the twins. The boys didn't really budge but they just smiled, getting ready for her.
I also ran, making them look at me, shocked. Before they could even run towards me, Sakura kicked one of the twins on the lockers and pulled the other back towards her. I didn't look back, knowing that I still need to go back with the trapped girl within ten minutes.
I then opened the infirmary with the key and went inside.
But I wasn't expecting to see who it was.
Jun looked at me slowly, cuts and claw marks visible on her arms. They were fresh and were dripping blood on her shirt, making it a bit of a mess. I then ran towards the cabinets, looking for some items that could help.
Seeing a few bandages, a pack of cotton balls and just one alcohol, I took it and ran beside her. She then smiled at me, tugging my long sleeves a bit.
"A-Akio," she called out to me, making me look at her. I tried to hide the sad look on my face, I focused on getting her bandaged.
"Shh, everything's going to be fine." I then took the alcohol, pouring a bit on a cotton ball. I looked at her, seeing her worried and scared expression at the cotton I was holding.
"This might sting a little, alright?" I then gently cleaned the cuts and small claw marks that were on her arm. She then tried not to scream as she tugged my long sleeves a little bit harder to my liking.
But, I didn't argue.
After bandaging her arm, I carried her bridal style since she passed out on my arms. Pushing the door with my foot, I saw the girl sweetly smiling at me. She then walked beside me as I quickly made my way upstairs and back to our classroom.
"Thank you," I thanked her as she nodded before walking into another direction, fading into nothing. I sighed before knocking.
"Hey, it's me Akio. Can someone open the door?" I asked, hearing some people arguing whether to open it or not. And guess what they did?
They didn't open the door, thinking that I was a ghost luring them out to kill them.
Unbelievable.
I set down Jun on the floor, leaning her against the wall. I then opened the door and carried her once again. I could hear some mutters and mumbles as I heard the door close behind me.
"A-Akio, we're sorry — " I heard some guy talking as I just nodded, too tired to argue back. I then sat down with Jun still on my arms. So, I set her down beside me, letting her head rest on my shoulder.
I could see Xhion and Minho's gaze at me as I gave them a cold glare, making them look away. But of course, Xhion looked back once again. Though, he wasn't looking at me. He was looking at Jun.
I was about to ask Xhion why he was staring at her but I felt Jun shifting a bit, her head almost falling down. I then chuckled, putting an arm around her to keep her from falling to the floor.
I looked at my watch, seeing that time passed by so quickly. It was almost night. I couldn't really see if I was right since the windows were barricaded. We had no candles to light as well. No matches to even light anything.
In other words, we were practically screwed. And I know that night time wasn't a good time to wander around the halls, especially when the ghosts are roaming once again.
