M I R A K O H I

I can't seem to find Akira and Nanami. They've been outside for like a 30 minutes or so. I didn't have a watch so I couldn't really tell how long they were there. Brushing my short and curly red hair, I looked back at the door. I was waiting a little while for Nanami to return since she was the only girl I seemed to trust.

That girl, I swear. She was nice. A bit too nice for her own good. I thought she was just pretending at first but when she gave me some chips of hers and talked to me, I swore that she was like my long lost twin. We had some things in common and she wasn't like the others who would talk and ignore you after.

Looking back, I then saw Akira opening the door. His head was hung low and claw marks were visible on his arms. I then stood up, seeing him falling down on his knees - weak and a bit tired. He then gave me a sad look that I already understood.

Nanami was dead.

She won't be coming back. She was long gone. I felt pity as I saw Akira's fist curled into a ball as he kept pounding it on the ground. I could clearly see the tears rolling down on hiss face as I kneeled infront of him.

"I'm sorry for your loss, Akira. She was your - " he then interrupted me as he shakes his head, not wanting to hear anymore.

"Please don't finish that sentence. I only got five minutes to say goodbye and I don't want to remember her suffering every second of it," he said as he bit back a sob before looking down at the floor.

I then saw that his arms were still bleeding so I quickly rushed towards Akio and borrowed the first aid kit. He then nodded, giving it to me as I opened it and got the items to clean Akira's injuries. When I got back to him, I quickly tried to grab his arm but he pulls it away from me.

"Akira, I need to bandage your arm!" I huffed in frustration as he shook his head and stood up, walking away from me. I quickly followed him as he gave me really cold glare.

"You don't have to." He then pulled out his knife and gave it to me. I shook my head, knowing what he wanted me to do. I then walked away, hearing his footsteps behind me.

"Mira, please!" he pleaded as he gave me the knife and I quickly let it fall on the floor. He then sobbed, knitting his eyebrows at me.

"Why?" he asked as I gave him a sympathetic look. I then shook my head once again before answering his question.

"You don't deserve to die like this." he then shook my head before pushing me away. I then saw him opening the door before going outside. Running towards him, I looked at my right seeing a girl in red smiling widely at him. Akira, on the other hand, just stood there.

I could see him trembling a bit as he backed away slowly. Suddenly, he muttered a name that made the girl widen her smile. I didn't hear it first but after a few minutes, I heard it perfectly.

"Aya," he said as the girl took another step forward. I then yanked him back as the girl took a large knife and swung it. Akira then shouted a japanese word that made her stop.

"Aya, Ore No kotowa hottoite kure! Yamero!" he shouted as the girl quickly leaves, walking back to where she came from before disappearing. I then sighed in relief as she leaves us alone. But, I could feel someone breathing on our necks.

And the next thing I know is that someone had grabbed and threw me back inside the room, leaving Akira outside. As I sat upright, I could hear Akira screaming in pain and a scissor like sound echoing throughout the hall. The door slammed shut as I shouted Akira's name, trying to open it forcefully.

A knock came, making me stumble back.

"You can't save him. His fate was set." A cold voice told me as I heard another boy calling him.

"Katsu, come on! She's getting away!" someone yelled as I guessed that it was his friend. He then gave me a last knock before I heard footsteps running down the hall and an ear-splitting scream coming from a lady.

I stumbled back and I felt someone helping me up. I then stared up, seeing Fujiko grabbing my arms as she helped me to stand. After I gained my composure, she asked me a question I would soon hear again.

"Are you alright?" I shook my head, looking at the door once again. Poor Akira. He didn't deserve this. Atleast he and Nanami are safe from this hellhole now. I looked down at the floor as Fujiko gave me a pat on the shoulder, trying to comfort me.

I then heard some laughters erupting from above, like they were enjoying the scene before them. Not thinking clearly, I took the knife from my pocket and threw it to the speaker. Then, someone spoke up.

"Oh Mira, that's not nice," Hidou said as he chuckled. I just let a low scoff in anger as I could imagine him smirking down at me. After that, a girl interjected.

"Since you're a bit disrespectful, you're next." I just gave another scoff as I could feel that they were waiting for my answer. I stood there, silent. What should I pick?

I was about to answer but someone screamed again, making my blood run cold. That was Akira! He was still alive. As I heard him struggling, I could imagine him being dragged like a ragdoll. A set of footsteps then came, running towards the lady - who gave another ear-splitting scream. I covered my ears, hearing Hidou growling.

"Excuse us for a second," the girl said as I heard a faint sound of door opening. My eyes widened along with the other students. Did they just leave a room?

After that, I heard someone groaning and a boy yelling out a name.

"Shin, look out!" Katsu screamed.
