I looked at Musume who was glaring at Hidou for a long time. He had answered already and all Hidou gave him was a spine-chilling grin. I wasn't really much for blaspheming but I couldn't help but think of some foul words when he turned his head towards me, his grin never leaving his face.
If only I wasn't startled right now, I would've smacked his face with Zima's baseball bat. After all, I was a baseball player back in the days. It's a good thing that he didn't stare at me like that longer too, because I would've been ticked off and would've thrown a knife at him instead.
"Well? Where's the hat to choose from?" Musume asked as Hidou quickly laughed, gaining everyone's attention. And that made Musume angry. He then grabbed Hidou's collar and raised him up in the air as Haru tried to stab him. I just ran and blocked Haru's attacks with my knife and then tried to slice him. He dodged, unfortunately.
"Oh? You didn't know? I changed it. I'm the one who's giving out the truth and Natsumi would tell the dare," Hidou said before looking down at Musume's hands that were still on his collar, by the way.
"You might want to release me if you still want to live. I do not like someone that has the audacity to mess with my collar." Musume then puts him down before glaring at him. Given that Hidou was shorter than him, he just looked down and glared at the conceited figure that was still fixing his tie and his collar. When Hidou had finished, he glared back at him as another figure stepped inside the room with us.
"Hidou, will you stop picking a fight with our victims? You know that we need them to suffer from them, not from us." Natsumi, I assume, looked at me and Musume before smiling widely. She then mentioned us to follow her as she stopped near the door to tell the dare. Looking down at her feet, she glanced at Hidou who was talking to Haru – both of them meters away from us.
She looks back at us before talking, "I actually didn't want it to end this way."
We both gave her a confused look as she took another glance at Hidou. Judging the sad look on her face, I could feel that she was forced to live her life as a ghost. I gave her a pitiful look at she started crying. I wasn't really heartless. I'm not that serious when it comes to feelings of other people. I was just trying to survive like everyone else in this room. So, I showed up like I was a bad person, intimidating them in every possible way. But I wasn't really like that. And Natsumi's remark made me like the person I was before.
The caring girl I used to be.
"Hidou and I weren't always like this. We were both at the student council government, greeting every student that passes our way. We were always with each other too. He would always stop by our classroom after his class and he would accompany me to where my next class was. Everyone got a happy ending," she explained as Musume and I listened to every word she told us.
"But then, when I met that little girl and greeted her after the day the headmaster died, everything changed. Hidou kept going to the headmaster's office and would act like he was there. I tried to convince him but he just won't listen. His blue eyes were dull and he became unsociable after that." She sobbed right after that remark, a little careful so Hidou and Haru couldn't notice her.
They were actually busy talking so they couldn't really hear her. But, she was still crying. Musume tried to gave her a pat on the shoulder but she pushed it away and shook her head. I guess she doesn't want him to pity her.
"After I met that little girl, I swear that I could see her silhouette behind me after my last class. I kept walking though, trying to ignore her. But then, everything went dark. I couldn't see anymore. I'm blind and all I can see is darkness," she said as I noticed that her crimson eyes weren't really glowing in the dark like the others.
"Right after Katsu showed his eyes to me, I saw hell itself. There was fire and lava everywhere, demons flying in the air, different trapped souls were screaming in agony. My eyes burned as well, you know. Even if I was blind, I knew I had to get away. So, I did.
The only thing that served as a guide was the other student's footsteps and the chains around my hands." She then showed me some chains that were wrapped on her arms and hands while the rest were on the ground.
But then, we heard series of footsteps coming our way. Glancing on our left, we saw Hidou raising an eyebrow at Natsumi. I could feel that he knew Natsumi told us everything. He then yanked on her arm and pulled her close to him while Haru had already left the room, giving me a smirk on his way out.
"You weren't telling them the dare, were you?" he coldly said as he tightly gripped her arm. She whimpered as she could feel Hidou glaring at her in rage. His blue eyes glowed in anger as she tried to struggle free.
"Please let me go, Hidou. You weren't like this before. Just let these students help us for damn sake!" she exclaimed as Hidou's eyes glowed even more. He then gripped it much more tightly as it left a red mark on Natsumi's arm.
Suddenly, tears fell on her cheeks. Hidou's eyes stopped glowing and his glare turned into a confused look. His gripped loosen a bit as Natsumi looked down on the ground.
"Hidou, please don't be like this. I want the old Hidou who would always accompany me throughout the school. I want the old him who I once loved. I want my president back," she cried out as she tried to pull away again. When she couldn't, she just stopped struggling.
"Let her go, Hidou! You're hurting her!" We both yelled as he then glanced at us before looking back to Natsumi – who was already crying and begging to be released. I saw him looking down at the floor before letting go of Natsumi's arm. His breath hitched as he saw Natsumi sobbing and falling down on her knees.
His eyes then turned into a calm cerulean color as he quickly kneeled down and hugged her close -hearing him muttering a few words.
"Oh God, what have I done?" he said as he pulled her close, not caring if we were in the room. Looking at my left, I saw Jun and Akio giving him a confused glance as they both wondered what happened.
