CHRIS POV
The rumours get worse.
Everyday at least one person would come up to me and ask if I beat the shit out of someone. And day by day more stupid felonies get added onto that single rumour. Now people think I'm in some gang that steals from shops, sleeps with girls and smoke pot. Do I look that fucking high to make them assume I smoke pot?
Now that nearly the entire year level know about the rumour, everyone is afraid of me. Whenever I walk pass or perform any type of contact with someone, they'd either look afraid and beg me not to hurt them or avoid me.
It's really fucking annoying.
Right now I'm sitting opposite of the principal who looks concerned.
Fuck, now the principal's after me.
"I overheard many students talking about what you did in your last school."
"And?"
"You do realise our school has zero tolerance in bullying whatsoever. So if the rumours are really true I'm warning you that you will be expelled from this school if you bully an innocent person. It doesn't matter if you're a new student, what matters is making our school a better place. We're watching you." He warns.
"Well I've got nothing to worry about then."
"Excuse me?" He frowns.
"I've never beaten someone up nor have I bullied someone before and I'm not planning on doing it either. Meaning I've got nothing to worry about, however I do feel disturbed at the fact that all of you adults are watching my every move." I shrug.
"So in other words you're saying that the rumours aren't true?"
"Yep." I cross my arms.
"You don't sound very convincing you know that? Lying won't solve the problem and if I catch you making fun of one person, I will call your guardians."
I swear to fucking god if they include Aunt Alice in this, I will beat someone up for real. She has enough children to handle.
"And for the last time I'm telling you those rumours aren't true." I look at him dead in the eye to prove I'm not lying.
"Keep denying it Chris, but I'm just warning you." The principal sits up, notifying me that I can leave.
I grumble and leave his office.
----------
The moment I sit down in class, everyone subtly stares at me. Either with a disapproving look or a scared-shitless look, I roll my eyes at their ridicule. I'm just a harmless human being who just wants to study hard to get into a good college and get out of this shitty place.
"When's the whole school massacre? I would really like to join so just tell me where you're hiding all the guns." Cassie raises an eyebrow.
"Soon, be patient psycho." I snort, the only people who haven't changed are Cassie and her group, and Emma. And I'm sure Cassie and the others also know about the rumours, but don't say a single word about it. And I'm glad they don't. However, the fact that Cassie's not phased about the rumours makes me believe that she really did spread those rumours. It's not helping that I've gotten closer to Emma and Cassie acting faker than usual, I'm beginning to believe Emma and I really don't want to face the truth.
About Emma though, nowadays we talk more often, whether we pass by each other in the hallway or in the library. And lately I've realised she's been trying to include me in her group of friends. However, she's friends with assholes and bitches so I decide not to hangout with them. It's so suspicious though, to the point I'm thinking she's using this rumour as a way to get closer to me. Why can't she just approach me anytime if she wants to talk to me?
