Chapter Four
After this class you get to see the love of your life. Just ten more minutes and you'll rush to the cafeteria. You'll scoop him up in your arms, kiss him, tell him you love him-Oh lookie someone wrote me a note!
I smile and grab the piece of paper from the corner of my desk. I look up to make sure Mrs. Goode wasn't staring at me. Once I make sure it's clear I open the note to read, "Stop smiling like that, people are thinking you're a creep."
I shoot a glare over at the only person I know who write this. Eric. I quickly scrawl, "You'd be smiling like this if you were going to see the love of your life."
I pass it to Eric who, luckily, sits beside me. I watch as he starts writing his reply. Once he's done he passes it back to me.
"I am. Her name is lunch. She's a lovey girl. You'd like her."
I roll my eyes and chuckle to myself. Eric is such a weirdo.
"Mr. Graham is there something you'd like to share with the class?"
Oh crap.
"Not at all Mrs. Goode." I smile sweetly at the older woman. "I'm just thought of something funny."
"So you'd be okay with reading that note?" She asks, walking towards my desk.
"Sure!" I stand up and read the conversation between Eric and I.
"Foster hasn't your mother ever told you puppy love isn't real love?" She asks, eyeing me.
"Oh it's not puppy love Mrs. Goode. I'm really in love." I sigh happily.
"Teenagers don't fall in love," She scoffs. "You don't even know what love is at this age."
"Teenagers can to fall in love! My parents met when they were sixteen! My mom worked hard so she could move to America to be with my dad!" I'm starting to get angry. She doesn't know how I feel.
"Enough of this." She snaps. "I have waisted too much of class for this. Open your books to-"
Before she can finish the bell cuts her off. I'm the first out of the class but I manage to hear tonight's homework. I race to my locker to put my books away. Once I reach the cafeteria I sit at my usual spot and watch people walk in. Good thing there's only one door.
I wait and wait, watching each person walk in. I start loosing hope when I realize no one else was coming in the large room. I get up. Maybe John doesn't eat in here. He was awfully small. Maybe he doesn't eat at all?
I walk out of the loud room and check around the school. I look in the library, stairs, a few class rooms. As I was turning the corner to check the bathrooms I run into someone.
My heart starts beating fast and my tongue turns to putty. When his innocent eyes meet mine I feel like I'm a ticking time bomb ready to explode at any second.
Yeah, this is defiantly love. Real love, not just puppy love.
When John notices how close we are he blushes slightly and steps back, creating a small gap between us.
"F-Foster right?"
"Yeah! It's good to see you again." I grin excitedly.
It's John! My John-well he's not mine yet, but I plan on fixing that.
"Good to see you too.." He looks down. "I guess I should be going now..."
My heart sinks. Does he not want to be around me? Does he not like me? Well if that's true I'll make him like me! I'll be awesome! He'll have to like me!
