Chapter Five
"Me."
"I'm going to go get my stuff for English." John mumbles, standing up.
As he stands his stomach growls. He crosses his arms and frowns. I guess he doesn't want me knowing he's hungry.
"You didn't eat." I point out.
"I never eat lunch." He whispers, frowning even more.
You think if he was hungry he'd eat. Does he not have money to eat? Noah and Damien didn't eat either but they seemed too fixed on each other to care.
"Why?"
"Uh.." I could hear the small amount of panic in his voice. However the bell rings before he can answer. Just like that he glances at me then takes off running back inside.
I sigh and stand as well. What if he doesn't want to be my friend? What if he doesn't like me at all? He just changed to topic when I admitted that I like him. Maybe he though that was gross.
I guess I'll just have to try harder. I need John to like me. I don't know what I'll do if he thinks I'm weird. Be sad forever I guess.
The whole day I trudge around school trying to figure out what to do about John. I've thought and thought about it and I've finally decided that the best way to fix this is to take John out on a date. Maybe once he gets to know me better he'll start liking me.
"FOSTER!" I turn towards the scream and get tackled.
"Hello Daisy. How are you today?" I ask, once she let's go of me.
"I'm just peachy. Listen I figured out the perfect prank." She tells me.
The prank! I forgot all about it! I'm glad she reminded me...
"Well what is it?" I ask. Knowing Daisy it has to be good.
"Okay So first we get a bunch of cans of silly string," she smirks, "we hide them in our desks and wait until after our test. Then it's a full out silly string war."
"I like how you think girl." I Chuckle. "We got to give Mr. Griffin a can too. He'll want in on our war."
Mr. Griffin is one of those epic teachers who would join in on the fun rather than screaming at us to stop. He's probably my favorite teacher.
"Hell yeah! But since it's your idea you get to go buy the silly string. Pretty boy." Daisy ruffles my hair and smiles sweetly.
I pout and brush my hand through my hair. I work hard on making sure my appearance is nice. I mean if I were to look all dirty people would think less of me. I want people knowing I'm a hard worker. Not some bum.
"I'll go get it tonight." I tell her, once I finish fixing my hair.
"Good." Daisy runs off before I can say another word.
I smile to myself and start walking to my car. Mika is getting a ride with Drake so I'm free for today. As soon as I'm out the strong smell of wet concrete makes me crinkle my nose.
It's raining.
"Well crap." I mumble, once realizing I don't have an umbrella. I don't want to get all wet. It's cold. I'll get sick.
I sigh and lean against the school. I guess I can wait and see if it turns to snow or stops all together. I wish it would snow.
My eyes dance around the parking lot, stopping when I see my love. John! Noah is with him. I wonder why those two spend so much time together. I get that they're friends but it makes me nervous that John is around him so much.
