Back at Asgard

Thor sat on his bed, looking out onto Asgard, thinking about what Heimdall said. What did he mean by 'looming darkness'? Is Loki in danger? Surely not right? Loki would've said something, would've given Heimdall a sign.

Although, Loki seems to not tell people when something is wrong. He never did when he felt sick, which Loki was a lot during childhood. He never did when he felt sad, or angry, or... He just never did.

Why didn't he? All Thor wants to do is help. All anyone wanted to do was help. That's why their father exiled him in the first place. He never even thought of execution, and he did not want for Loki to be alone in the deepest, darkest dungeons for the rest of his life. So their father chose what was done with Thor. Exiled him.

Thor has found himself asking when the return of his brother will be. Or even his magic can be returned. But Odin always says, "When he is worthy."

What does that even mean? Thor thought. Then he remembered, it worked for himself. So it should for Loki.

Right?

And this fear that Heimdall has suddenly gained. If Heimdall fears for Loki, shouldn't the king, their father know?

And what is there to fear?

Thor just didn't know.

. . .

Stark Tower

Natasha arrived by noon. She and Loki shook it out, but you can still sense the tension of it all. Could you blame them?

The hardest part of this all was keeping it from S.H.I.E.L.D and most of all... Fury. Fury would have their heads if they found out.

They were all, again, sitting in the living room talking this ordeal over. Natasha and Barton sat next to each other on a large leather chair. Tony sat on the left of the couch and Astryd to the left, Loki in the middle. Steve and Bruce sat on another couch.

"Hey, Tony? Where's Pepper?" Natasha asked.

"Oh, she's on a little vacation. She needed it I can tell ya that. She wouldn't tell me where though, didn't want me getting in the way." Tony shrugged.

Natasha nodded. She looked towards Loki, who was starring downwards. "So, what's up? I mean, this Thanos guy, what's he up to?"

Loki jumped at the voice and looked up. "Hm? Oh, yes. Well, he wants me. But Thanos craves death. He could be killing two birds with one stone."

"I don't get it." Bruce said, furrowing his eyebrows.

"He could have something planned for Earth. I mean, if he wants me, and knows that I care for this realm, at least now I do, then he could make this world perish to get to me. That's why I need to leave."

"Nope, not happenin' Reindeer Games." Tony said, waving his hand in the air dismissively.

"Tony-" Loki tried, but Tony interrupted quickly.

"Loki," His voice got sterner. "No. I won't let... we won't let anything, anything happen to you. Capishe?"

Loki hesitated and nodded. "Okay, I won't leave."

"Good. Now, what do we need to know?" Tony urged.

"Yea, I'm here now," Natasha stated. "But I'm not exactly sure what's going on here. S.H.I.E.L.D found you, tortured the snot outa you, Tony and Astryd here," She gestured toward them. "Saved you and brought you here. Then Thanos communicated you by dreams or something, what?"

Loki put his mouth in an 'o' position and nodded. "Yes, of course. After my... attack of panic... I was at my weakest, so it was easier for Thanos to... I know not... I just fell asleep of exhaustion. He was there... talking and taunting and... He said he was on his way. That I'm not safe no matter where I go. I-" His voice cracked. What was he supposed to say? Any why are they all looking at him like that? With... pity? He does not know. They look confused.

It was then Loki got mad. Pure rage. "Would you stop looking at me like that! I'm not glass! I won't break so stop looking at me like I will!"

Loki seemed stunned, like he didn't expect to say that. He closed his eyes and sighed. "I-I'm sorry."

"It's alright." Astryd said, straightening in her seat.

"No, it's not, dammit!"

"Loki calm down." Steve said quickly.

Loki stood up from his seat. Stop, Loki, stop! He thought to himself. "It's not okay! I'm so... I'm so angry! What have I ever done to him?!" Why can't I stop?

Steve and Tony stood up, hands out as if to try and calm him. The rest of them looked stunned, and uncertain as of what to do.

"Okay, alright. It'll be okay." Tony soothed.

"No!" Loki's eyes began to shade a bright yelllow. Why are his insides burning? Something seems to be trying to claw his way out of his very skin. He yelped and fell to his knees. "Wh... What's happening?" He yelled fearfully, Steve and Tony kneeling beside him, everyone else standing around anxiously.

"It's alright. Calm down." Steve tried.

"Steve... His eyes." Natasha said.

Loki yelped again, falling to his back.

"Bruce!?" Tony yelled angrily. Bruce knelt down too. "What's wrong with him!?"

"He's seizing! Loki. Loki, can you hear me?" Bruce began lightly tapping the side of Loki's face.

I told you I was here. Thanos cooed.

"No... n-no..." Loki struggled.

"What is it? C'mom, Loki talk to me. What is it?"

Loki tensed up and screamed. What's happening?

Me, Jotun runt.

He screamed again, unable to catch his breath. "T-T-Thanos..." Loki grunted. He grit his teeth.

Everyone exchanged nervous glances. Loki gave one last scream before losing himself.

Loki's body loosened and he fell limp, breathing heavily.

Everyone stiffened. Bruce glanced at Steve, then at Tony. "Loki," Bruce urged. "Loki can you hear me?"

"Oh," Loki rasped. "Loki is gone." He whispered evily.

"What?"

'Loki' smirked. "Hello, I'm Thanos." He said sarcastically.

"Ohhh, shit!" Tony backed away.

Okay, I know, bad ending to chapter but... ya know. I like to give people cliff hangers.
