A quick shout out to Karissa221B for being the first to comment on my story!

Clint and Natasha decided to go out for the night. Maybe go out to to eat. No, it wasn't a date... well... Not exactly. They needed to discuss some things. This whole mess with Loki is really taking a toll on everything. S.H.I.E.L.D had called Natasha to see if they had any news on Loki. She lied. She said no. Because she doesn't want Loki to suffer yet again and she couldn't possibly fathom why! Bruce had done something to everyone's phone that made them eligible to call and text people in Earth.

Then there is Agent Barton. He has found out that Loki is not the evil monster everyone had sought him out to be. In fact, he's pretty kind. A little of a pest sometimes but... not evil. Or a monster, for that matter.

They didn't really know where they were going. They had a month to just explore Asgard and they only did it once, and even then they had too many things on their minds. Why isn't Loki explaining to them what all had happened? And what did he mean when he said that Loki himself was the punishment? So many questions and no answers!

They decided to just walk along the Rainbow Bridge that they have become so fond of during their time in Asgard. They wanted to avoid Heimdall. He was creepy to them. Always being mysterious and never giving straight answers. It was really annoying.

They were sitting on the edge of the bridge, legs dangling off.

"So, what do you think of all this?" Natasha asked.

"Nat, I just don't know." Clint replied.

Natasha usually would've been angry when someone used Nat, but it didn't bother her with Clint. "Well, you gotta feel somethin'. Whether it's anger, or sadness, or even confusion, you feel something. What are you feeling?"

"Utter confusion, Nat. Why isn't Loki explaining anything? We can't help him if he went let us!" He exclaimed annoyed.

Natasha sighed. "Same."

"I mean, what did Loki mean? When he said he was the punishment. He looked so sad... so broken. What has he been through to make him feel such stuff? I mean, yeah, obviously torture and stuff... but... GOD! I just don't know!"

"I do." Said a deep, mysterious voice that both of them rolled their eyes too. They turned around to find Heimdall with his golden armor and golden eyes. Why is everything in Asgard gold? "He has endured too much for someone's mind as young as his to withstand."

Clint got up walking towards him. "There ya go again. Why don't you give us straight answers? Heimdall, why?"

"I'm afraid."

"What?" Natasha asked,  getting up too.

"I don't just know what Prince Loki has been through. I saw. Did you think that that would not break my heart? He was dear to me as a child. He came to me, about everything. When kids called him names in school. When Thor made him seem weak. When his father made him feel unwanted... unloved."

Natasha and Clint listened intently, feeling guitly.

"He also went to his mother. We were the only ones who truly understood the prince. When he tried to go to Thor all Thor said was get over it. You have to be stronger. Not strong. Stronger. When he went to his father, all he said was a good king doesn't listen to fools as such.

"That's why he came to me and Queen Frigga. We understood him. So yes, he was very dear to me. That is why I am afraid. Afraid to explain to others. Many have come to me asking what had happened. I was afraid to tell them. I'm afraid to tell you. Because what he endured is nothing close to easy, or as I have seen some of our people say, a few punches and kicks... No. Not even close."

"Wait, of you saw him, why didn't you tell us?" Clint asked.

"As I have said before, I couldn't see where he was. I could only see him."

Clint and Natasha's eyes went wide with realization.

. . .

Steve, Tony, and Bruce all walked along the village of Asgard. They wanted to get a good hear of the rumors going around about Loki. So far, they heard the people talking about how Loki needs to basically suck it up because he probably got his head kicked in a few times. But they don't know! He's been there a year! They still think a month! That's not what happened! And it's pissing them off!

They were surprised by how many people were up and walking about so late at night.

. . .

You're so worthless.

Unwanted.

Unloved.

Why do you even exist?

What kind of thing are you?

Jotun Runt!

You fell for my trick!

Why would anyone love you?

Certainly not me.

Loki shot up, sweat covering his face, breathing hard. Astryd's words rang through his head. But... it wasn't real. She wasn't real. Right?

"Loki?" Asked a very tired Astryd, sitting up, covering bare chest.

Loki breathed, trying to find the words. "Uh... Nothing darling. Just... Go back to sleep."

"What is it?" She asked.

"Just... nothing. Go back to sleep." Loki said, lying back down. He put his back towards Astryd and covered himself up in the blanet.

He heard Astryd sigh and put an arm around him. "It's okay. You'll be okay." She whispered, falling back alseep.

Loki felt a hint smile forming on his lips. He turned his head to look at her and turned back, smile now reaching from ear to ear. He loves her so much. So much.

. . .

*Frigga and Odin have fallen asleep in their chambers*

. . .

Thor couldn't really sleep. All he could think about was his brother. The story so far was very... gory. Brutal. Hell.

How did Loki deal with it?

He remembered Thanos saying he delt with it because of Astryd. He remembered Thanos saying when the darkness threatened to swallow him whole, he thought of Astryd. He had to fight for Astryd.

He knew they loved eachother. So did they. So did everyone else. But... to think of only one person during your time of darkness...

Wait...

He had called out for Thor.

Why didn't Thor come?

Why didn't he listen?

Alright, sorry I couldn't really get to you what Odin and Frigga are thinking. But I will. Don't you worry! About a thing! Cause every little thing! Is gonna be alright!

Sorry... Love that song!
