Thor and Frigga helped Loki to his room. When they entered they found Astryd, still sleeping in the chair next to Loki's bed. Frigga smiled at the sight. She could just see the worry for her son on her sleeping stance. Waiting at his bedside. It was lovely.
Frigga led Loki down onto the bed, along with Thor's help, not wanting to wake the Lady Astryd.
Sadly, it didn't work. She stirred, sitting up abruptly. "Loki?" She exclaimed sleepily.
"Mmm..." He hummed back, sinking into the covers.
"Is he okay?" She asked Thor.
"I'm not sure. I'll ask Banner." He said, leaving the room.
Astryd turned to the woman standing next to his bed, holding his hand. She smiled. "Um, hi. I don't believe we've met." She said, sticking her hand out.
Frigga seemed to snap out of a trance. "Oh, excuse my rudeness. I am Frigga, Loki and Thor's mother." She replied, taking Astryd's hand and shaking it.
Astryd seemed shocked. What's she doing here? Is that good? Or is that bad? She shook the thoughts away. "Pleasure to meet you..." She stopped. "Ohmygawsh!!!" She yelled, making Frigga jump. "You're the queen!" Astryd screeched happily.
Frigga laughed. "Yes, dear. I am the queen of Asgard." Her smile suddenly faltered due to Loki's thrashing. She panicked. "What's wrong dear?"
Loki let out a scream. "No!"
Astryd ran out of the room followed by, "I'll get help!"
Frigga grabbed Loki's wrists, trying to hold him down. "Darling?" She fearfully exclaimed.
Thor, Banner, and Astryd came bursting through the door. Thor and Banner began to attempt to hold him down. "Loki!" Banner yelled. "Tell me what's wrong!"
Loki whimpered, thrashing more. "Stop! I wont!"
"Won't what?" Astryd asked scarcely.
Loki got out of Banner and Thor's hold, jumping off the bed, tears streaming down his face. His eyes... they were yellow.
Thanos...
"No!" Astryd yelled, trying to step closer towards Loki, Bruce stopping her. "Fight it Loki! Fight him!"
"What's happening?" Frigga asked.
"I won't harm them." Loki hissed quietly.
Frigga exchanged glances with Thor. She turned back to Loki, who seemed to be charging at her. She steppes back, Loki tumbling onto her. They lay on the ground, Loki squeezing Frigga's throat. "No!" He yelled. He pulled away, Frigga holding her throat protectively. She seemed to panting.
"Wait, Queen Frigga! That's not Loki!" Astryd yelled.
Loki kneeled down on his knees, screaming, pulling at his hair. "Stop!"
Does my voice hurt? Little runt. You're pathetic. Kill her! Kill your mother!
"No!" He fell on his side whimpering.
Frigga ran to his side, holding him. "Shh... Shh... It's okay darling." She soothed, a tear coming down her cheek.
"I - I'm so s-sorry... I didn't... I couldn't..." He screamed again, Frigga holding tighter. She felt something wet on her dress. She looked at her stomach, noticing something red staining it. The she glanced at Loki's stomach. "He's bleeding!" She panicked.
Bruce came running at their side, Astryd and Thor looking more alert. "Shit! He popped his stitches! Help me get him on the bed!"
They held him upright, getting him to the bed. Loki seemed more calm. He was sleeping. Good. No more screaming. Frigga couldn't take the sound of her precious son screaming in agony.
. . .
After Bruce had re-stitched Loki up, they made their way downstairs to the eagerly waiting Avengers. Frigga introduced herself to them all. Then they all explained what was happening. Frigga nodded in understanding. "So, let me get this straight." She said. "Thanos is trying to take over his mind because he failed at taking over Midgard and to deliver him the Tesseract?"
Tony nodded. "Yep, that's it."
"But, my question is," Clint started. "Where is he doing this? If we find him, and kill him, it'll be over. We just have to find him."
"But he could be miles away." Natasha said, nodding her head.
"More like galaxies away. He's not in your realm." Thor stated. "But, maybe, if Father will let us. I can get y'all into Asgard and we find him there. Fight him together. For Loki..."
Frigga put a hand on his shoulder. "I fear he won't let us. I also fear he knows what's happening. And he didn't tell us when we could've known. I mean, before any of this happened."
"Why say that?" Asked Steve.
"Because his face... He looked so afraid. And he isn't here. He sent me. And Thor. So he knows. I can see it."
"Well, Loki is under a lot of stress with this... extra force in his head." Bruce said. "I've been trying to deny this for a long time."
"What?" Astryd asked.
"If Thanos keeps trying and putting these images in his head during sleep, he could lose his mind. I mean, he's on the verge on sanity now."
Frigga put her hands to her mouth in a gasp. Thor just looked down. Odin help us.
"What do we do?" Astryd asked.
"I think... He should stop sleeping."
"You can't just ask him to stop. Soon, he will lose it and fall asleep." Thor said.
"What if... What if Odin gave him back his magic. He'd be immortal again. He wouldn't need as much sleep."
"No." Frigga said. "Odin won't allow it.
"You could try, Mother." Thor said, putting his hands in hers.
Frigga hesitated before nodding. "I'll try. I'll leave immediately. I'll be back by morning." She said, standing up, Thor mimicking her.
He embraced her. "Be careful Mother."
She laughed, hugging him back. "What's the worst Odin can do?"
Thor smiled, letting go. "Alright."
Frigga gave one last smile to everyone before heading to the street. They all saw the bifrost and knew she would be gone for a while.
Bruce got up from the couch, "I'll wake Loki."
"No," Astryd exclaimed, standing from her seat. "Let me."
Bruce nodded and Astryd headed upstairs to Loki.
There ya go! Hope you liked it. I'll post tomorrow hopefully. But not so sure yet. Okay. Welp. Bai!
