Hot.

It was too hot.

He knew his true heritage would be used against him. Not just in painful words, but in this room as well.

The room was dark and rock surrounded him. This cold, barren rock is where he would spend the rest of his life unless he gave in.

Suddenly, glowing eyes were near him. He looked up to see the mad purple skinned Titan.

Thanos.

"Well, my Jotun runt, have you come to your senses?" His voice was slow and just pure evil coos.

It took very much strength as he lie on the cold ground, hands laying limply because of these damned shackles, to reply a barely audible "no".

"Pity, runt. Will I have to provide you with more... persuasion?" Thanos replied coldly.

Loki couldn't help but let out a fearful whimper as the Titan grabbed him by the throat and lifted him from the ground, dangling in Thanos's grip.

He let out strangled gasps while clawing at the mad Titan's hand squeezing his throat cutting off the air flow.

"It's a shame I have to use force." Thanos said as he threw Loki against a rock.

Loki let out a yelp with the connection he made to the wall.

Thanos walked closer to the fallen, trembling god and grabbed the side of his face with his hands pulling Loki upright. His hands began to glow as Loki let out a scream.

Hot!

Too hot!

Burning.

Pain.

It felt like flames were running through his veins. His veins began to glow a fiery red and orange and he realized there was fire running through his veins.

He let out a scream begging for death.

Loki jolted awake but suddenly regretting it for he fell back with a cry. He was panting trying to get the memory away. He just wanted it to stop.

He was trying to remember what happened and found he couldn't remember anything. He remembered being S.H.I.E.L.D.'s grasp and the electricity and the pain.

He looked around and then felt the soft bed underneath him. He then realized the soft coverlet over him keeping him warm. He threw it off harshly with with a grunt.

He saw a window and looked out it and knew exactly where he was.

But why would Tony Stark care?

. . .

Tony was sitting at the bar with Astryd. Them both discussing the matter at hand.

"So, now what?" Astryd asked.

"I'm not sure. Wait 'till he wakes?" Tony suggested.

"Sir, I must inform you Mr. Odinson has awoken."

Tony looked up as if the computerized voice, Jarvis, was see able. "Speak of the devil." He chimed getting up to walk to the guest room Loki was staying in, Astryd following behind him.

"Do you think he will be angry?" She asked.

"Uh, duh."

. . .

Loki lie there on this soft bed sweating and panting trying to figure out what exactly has transpired.

He was taken from his thoughts as Tony Stark and some strange woman walked into the bedroom.

"Hey there Reindeer Games. How ya feeling?" Tony asked in a hesitant voice.

"Why would you care?" Loki asked in a raspy voice.

"If I didn't care, you wouldn't be here. Why? Because I'm nice like that. Now, how are you feeling?" He asked more firm this time.

He hesitated but complied to the question. "Not my best but I will heal in time. Odin stripped me of my powers. I am currently pretty much mortal. Except for the Jotun-"

He stopped realizing he said too much.

The woman stepped closer to Loki confused. "What?"

"Nothing..." Loki replied quietly. "May I ask your name? I do not believe we have been acquainted."

"Yea, you can ask my name. Right after you continue what you stopped saying." She said, putting her hands on her hips.

Loki heard Tony laugh and shot him glare.

"Hey, we're the ones taking care of you. Tell us everything we need to know." Tony stated matter-of-factly.

Loki looked up at the ceiling and began explaining. "When Thor took me back to Asgard all those months ago, I was kept in a cell until the Allfather found a suitable punishment. He banished me here while stripping my powers. He left the Jotun in me though. Clever isn't he? He knows I hate it. So he left it and sent me here." Loki explained, giving a small chuckle at the punishment.

"What is a Jotun or whatever?" Tony asked waving his hand.

"I'm sure Thor told you of the 'Frost Giants'?" Loki asked expectantly.

"Yea, he said that was your true heritage. What is a Jotun?"

"Frost Giant is the way Asgardians put it because it's the foul way. The logical form is Jotun. From Jotunheim. I'm sure you can figure out what it is by the foul name." His voice was becoming softer as If becoming tired.

"Cool, now my name is Astryd." The girl, known as Astryd, chimed in cheerfully.

"Nice name," Loki whispered, eyes drooping.

"Maybe we should leave him." Astryd said.

"No, tell me... Tell me how I got here?" Loki whispered again. His eyes were completely closed now.

"Rest, and then we will. Promise." Tony said.

After they exited the room it wasn't but a couple of seconds until the darkness engulfed Loki.

. . .

"That went better than I thought." Tony said to Astryd as they made their way back to the bar. "Ya know, I can't help but feel kinda bad for the guy. I mean, Thor told us he was adopted and didn't find out 'till way later, but I didn't know they were Asgard's full blown enemy."

"How do you know they are Asgard's enemy?" Astryd asked.

"Asgard came up with a "foul" name for them. It's not rocket science."

"I'm not mad at him at all. I was until now. Ya know, people focus on the bad he has done. When really he just hurt. I focus on that. Not all of us are perfect. None of use are perfect. So I feel people should just lay off him. He needs some extreme cheering up. That's all." Astryd explained with a shrug.

"I can't believe I'm saying this but I agree with you." Tony said taking a full gulp of Alcohol. "I'm gonna need a lot of this."

"When don't you?" Astryd asked laughing.
