Janey and Jasonmet every Thursday at eight pm for nearly two months and she andNancy worked together every chance they had. Nancy finally beganhearing from her guide but it wasn't a dragon ... she swore it wasthe Indian girl they played with in their toddler years.

"I swear it'sthe same girl, Janey, I see her as an adult now, but the shape of herface ... the inflection of her voice ... I'm now realizing I didhear her a few times when we were kids." Nancy told her oneafternoon as they were tying their ice skates for a game of hockey.

"It's notsurprising ... little kids see their guides and guardians all thetime, they get talked out of "imaginary friends". It's a shamebecause they really aren't imaginary at all." Janey answered asshe finished tying her own skates.

"She talks to memostly in that time between being completely awake and totallyasleep." Nancy answered standing and getting her gloves out.

"That'snormal, too. Me being able to communicate with Zel all the time wassort of an emergency. I had to wake to my PK before the trip to DC soI could save us all."

"Yeah ... youknow, I wonder if you will ever meet that baby you saved."

"They may noteven know I saved them. You know how distracted new mothers can be."Janey answered as they stepped onto the ice.

Christmas was itsusual fun; loving and sacred time in the Richardson house, but duringthe winter vacation, a man in a black suit came to the door andwanted to speak with the whole family. Janey felt on alert the momenthe stepped out of his black car.

"Zelistuck ...something's up. Who is that guy? Where is he from?" Shesilently asked her guide who had taken to sitting in her smallestform on Janey's shoulder.

The dragon blinkedout and a moment later Janey could see her flying behind the man ashe walked up their front walk then she blinked out again and back onJaney's shoulder.

"Oddly Icouldn't get very deep into his mind but I can tell you he is arepresentative from the American government. He has a gun under hisarm and a radio in his breast pocket and a wire in his ear."Zelistuckwhispered to Janey as the door bell rang.

Gail answered thedoor. The man spoke very quietly and showed her an id badge and shelet him in. Janey was getting really spooked. The man just stoodinside the door as Gail went for her husband. The man didn't lookat Janey or anything at all in the living room he seemed not to beseeing the room at all.

"He'slistening to instructions on his wire." Zelistucktold Janey.

When ThurstonRichardson came into the room with his wife the man showed her fatherhis identification and they sat with Janey and asked the man to sitin a chair opposite the family.

"Mr.and Mrs. Richardson, Janey, my name is Magnum Frost and I work withthe office of Homeland Security. I said with not for. I'm here tointerview Janey for inclusion in a project I'm conducting whichinvolves development of psychics for helping to safeguard ourcountry."

"Holy Crap!"Janey swore under her breath, but neither of her parents chastisedher for it. Her father put his arm protectively around her shouldersand her mother grabbed her hand like she would never let go.

"Now I see fromyour reaction to my statement that you fear I'll steal yourdaughter away and you will never see her again. You can't be morewrong. Yes, I'll want her for the weekend from time to time, butshe will continue to live with you the rest of the time."

"What, exactly, will you be doing with Janey?" Thurston asked a tone of suspicionstill in his voice.

"Janey, whatelse can you do, besides the amazing PK?" Frost asked her directly.
