The journey was uneventful. She missed Katey but didn't have a lot of time to think about it. Installed in the school on Sunday, she was ready for classes Monday morning and any excuse she could get to go to the office she took. She chatted with Miss Girardeau every chance she could and got as personal as the time allowed. Finally she got her chance to check into were the woman lived when Miss Girardeau stepped out of the office to get Janey a signature of a teacher. Janey hoppedon her computer and found the woman's address. After she got what she wanted, she put the computer back as she found it.
"She lives close, Janey; you can probably do this from your dorm room." Frost said in Janey's head.
"And I've dream walked her already so she won't be startled awake." Janey answered him, mentally.
"Here you go Janey. I hope you enjoy the riding class." Miss Girardeau smiled.
"Thank you, M'am, I think I will. I love horses." Janey said and returned to her classroom.
That night, after lights out, Janey sat cross-legged on her bad. She sent her spirit to find Miss Girardeau and she watched her dream for a while then inserted herself into the dream.
Ellen was dreaming about trying to approach Mr. Toliver. In her dream she would start out as what she saw in her mirror every morning, a sweet, pretty, sophisticated, slim woman but as she walked closer and closer to Mr.Toliver the image would dissolved into the awkward, chubby, pimple faced, teeth braced, ugly duckling she still felt, deep inside, that she was. Janey appeared in her dream as a fairy and with a wave of a wand turned that ugly duckling into the Ellen she saw in the mirror.
"Remember my child, you are beautiful, it is only your own past makes you think you are still an ugly duckling. You are all grown up and now you are a beautiful swan."
She whispered in Ellen Girardeau's ear. The fairy went "poof" but Janey was still in her mind and made Mr. Toliver turn and look at Ellen stunned and happy. This dream ended with them dancing together blissfully happy.
Dreams take only seconds compared to the reality of life, but for Janey to influence someone else's dreams took a lot of work and when she opened her eyes to get under the covers she could see it was almost dawn. This night work was going to play havoc on Janey's ability to concentrate in class.
"Take what sleep you may for now, Janey and I will renew and refresh you before the wake up bell rings." Zelistuck told her, and began humming in Janey's sleepy ear.
This routine of invading Miss Girardeau's dreams and influencing her during the day repeated itself all week and by Friday, Janey saw the two of them walking arm in arm out the front gate and across the street to the coffee shop.
"Mr. Frost ...they're on a date ... do you think it's safe for me to leave yet?"Janey asked her supervisor, mentally.
"Probably, she cared for him in the first place, and he seemed to care for her but he, also, was too shy to ask. However, we don't have a lot of time to find out where they're keeping their supplies for the attack. Our men here haven't gotten anywhere."
"Do you want me to influence Toliver to tell her about the plan?" Janey asked but she was a little angry at being manipulated.
"I am not manipulating you, Janey. I merely stated a fact that our men haven't found the supplies. You made the jump to influence. And the answer to that is not unless you feel comfortable doing it. He is a sensitive."
"I can try to dream walk him. When he's unconscious, he's less likely to catch me."
"I'm sending Amanda Gerald in to be a bodyguard for you. She'll have a letter from your supposed father saying a death threat was made."
