Elena's P.O.V

You know how when you're driving, you get pulled over by police and you think there must have been some crime you did although there isn't anything?

I felt the exact same way.

Walking to class on monday morning, everybody, and I mean everybody was staring at me, pointing at me and whispering about, well, me. Of course the reason was Alec's stupid deed of posting my picture on his Snapchat Story. And here I thought I'd pass my senior year with peace. So much for not wanting attention.

I literally felt like I was some kind of a criminal. I had yet to feel more bad when Maddie was going to confront me. What did I get myself into?

I stopped by my locker to grab books for the first period, the people's stares and whispers never dying down. I opened my locker ready to take out my books only for it to be slammed back shut by a very pissed Maddie.

"Explain", she said, in a really serious tone.

Letting out a sigh, I was going to explain my sudden realtionship with Alec but the homeroom bell cut me off.

"Homeroom. Explanation. Now.", she stated. Angry Maddie is really bossy. She might be a little, you know, dense but you get on Maddie's bad side and you'll know. Just that you'll regret it.

I let out a sigh and followed her to homeroom. We sat at the back of the class so that we could talk without getting noticed but who was I kidding. I'm Alec's girlfriend. I'm not getting anywhere without being noticed. The stares followed me to the class.

"I'm waiting", Maddie sassed.

"Huh. Okay. Before you go all Maddie over me, just consider my situation.", I said. Teacher was still not in the class so we had time to chat.

"I'm listening", she said with a bitch face. Sometimes, she's rude too.

"Look, last friday I ran into Blake.", she frowned at his name but decided to stay quiet. I continued.

"He said he missed me and somehow  topic about Thomas came up which Alec heard. The only way he'd keep his mouth shut would be if I would help him get back at Jewel. And how, you ask? Well, he asked me to be his fake girlfriend", I said it all in one go, choking at Thomas' name.

"He WHAT!?!", Maddie literally screamed. Now the people who weren't already staring at me were looking my way too. Oh, God.

"Shout it out to the whole class Maddie!", I snapped.

"Sorry, he what?! Are you crazy? And you agreed? I told you before if you're in any situation, try to do what you think I'd do.", she said. Okay, she's narcissist. That's new.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell it to you before but you didn't pick up any of my calls over the weekend.", I told her.

"Sorry. I was pissed.", she said looking down at her hands in her lap. "I thought you didn't want to share stuff with you anymore."

"Oh, Madds. You're my best friend. I'd always share my stuff with you. As long as you do the same though.", she laughed at this.

"Don't worry though. If Alec is forcing you to do this, just tell me. I'll talk to him. And make sure he regrets it. I'll take away his privilege of having babies.", she replied. Oooh harsh.

"Thanks. But I guess I'll handle it myself. Thank you for understanding".

Maddie has always been supportive. She was obviously there in all of my happiest moments. But she never left my side, not even once, when I was in my bad times. Of course I did the same for her, but I know I'll never be able to repay her for her love and support that she gave me. True definiton of a best friend truly. I'd never tell it to her though.
