Esther POV

It was the night after the ball. I fear that Elijah is becoming suspicious that I'm up to something, he found the burnt sage. It was only me at home, my children believed that I was reacquainting myself with the modern world in my own way whilst Finn was with his siblings at some Grill. I was hurriedly packing some clothes for me and Finn, if they found out we would need to leave as soon as possible. I'd just zipped up the last bag when the door bell rang. I made my way down the stairs and towards the door, shocked at who was in the other side.

"Jeremiah?" I asked and I was thrown back to when the children were human and young.

-FLASHBACK-

Jeremiah had been staying with us for a few days. It was strange having another man around the house. He'd taken over teaching Finn to fight with a sword and managed to anger Mikael who knows how many times.

"Esther, how are things? I brought more fire wood" Said the man that had been lingering in my thoughts.

"Thank you" I said to him tensely. I didn't like the feeling I got from him. It spoke of sins but also virtuous acts. "Why don't you go to the bonfire tonight, hmm? You'll be able to meet people besides the family" I told him and he frowned.

"Is that your way of trying to tell me you don't want me around?" He asked and I paused momentarily in cutting the vegetables that we'd grown. I resumed without giving him an answer.  " I don't mean any harm by being here, say the word and I shall leave" he said before he once again left the cabin that was my home.

It was now later into the evening and I was wondering where my children were. I was looking around and saw them dancing with the young adults and teenagers around the fire. The boys were dancing with the older girls and Finn was talking to a girl his age and both were furiously blushing. Rebekah however was in the arms of her uncle being spun around in large circles and both were giggling.

Maybe Jeremiah isn't so bad.

-PRESENT-

"Wh-wh- how?" I asked the man who was older than myself but seemed around 20 years old. Last any of us heard from him was when Rebekah turned 15 and he sent someone with a present for her which she still had to this day if I remember correctly.

"Long story, Esther. May I come in?" He asked and I stepped aside for him to enter the mansion. "So mind if I crash here for a while?" He asked and I was just stunned. "You look like you could use a drink" he said and I slowly nodded my head. "Let's find a bar or something then" he said dragging me out of the house. He didn't give me chance to lock the door and just dragged me to what I could only describe as the perfect car for going surfing.

"Welcome to my 2015 Safari Jeep concept, baby blue, 2 seats to fit more booze in the back for partying at the beach barbeque" he said and hopped into the drivers side whilst I just climbed into the passenger side.

"Isn't it dangerous to not have windows in the back?" I asked him as he started driving, like a maniac might I add.

"What?! Noo it's perfectly safe-ish" he said which didn't relax my nerves at all. I looked over at him and could tell he still had the same laid back, who cares let's just have fun attitude he always did have. He was wearing a vest loose fitted the arm holes barely reached his waist and he had swim shorts on, beach wear. "So what you been doing since I last saw you?" He asked as we reached town, just another five minutes and I could drown my confusion in shots.

"I've been dead" I said bluntly and he just snorted like something was funny. "Finally" I muttered under my breath when the Grill came into sight. He parked and I jumped straight out, screw manners. Walking into the establishment I headed straight for the bar. "2 of your strongest shots" I Said baring no mind to 2 of my sons next to me.

"Mother everything alright?" Asked Elijah as he came  over with Rebekah and Finn.

I shook my head. God nothing is right with that man here. "No nothing is alright your uncle decided to pay a visit" I Said and when I finished talking the door to the Grill opened and in walked their uncle without a care in the world.

"Uncle Jer!!" Shouted Rebekah and she ran over jumping into his arms. He caught her and twirled her around, I just glared. If he cares about my children he could ruin my plan. He came over and greeted my other children but I tried my best to ignore him, espeacially the twin glints of mischief in his and Kols eyes.

"Jeremy?" Asked a feminine voice I recognised as the Sheriff.

"I'm sorry I've never met a Jeremy before but my names Jeremiah, I'm Mikael's brother the Mikaelsons uncle" he said and I saw the doppelgänger run out of the building when she caught sight of Jeremiah.

Interesting, very interesting indeed.
