Lily's P.O.V

Senior years is suppost to be the best year of your life, going to school dances, hanging with friends, and being a free teenager. My senior experience so far, is terrible. The snarky remarks, the glaring while walking through the hallway, the preachers daughter is a rebel. I slammed the locker door, and sighed. When will this ever stop, I made my way to the willow tree I ate lunch under. I sighed and decided to call Landon. He will make me feel better. He answered and sounded breathless.

"Lily whats wrong? Are you alright? What's the matter?" He yelled into the phone, making me flinch. I rolled my eyes, waiting for his rant to be over.

"LANDON! I am alright ! I am just having a bad day, and I just wanted to hear your voice." I mumbled into the phone, I heard him sigh.

"Thank God. Lily, I am sorry that I can't be with you and protect you. It kills me knowing you are hurting from your peers, and your family. On the bright side, Travis is coming over with his new girlfriend Ella, and we are going to go on a trail ride, have a sunset picnic, and swimming in the creek. " He sounded excited, he did not have many guy friends excpet for Luke and Travis. I did not even know that Travis had a boy friend. I was loosing my friends and family.

"Sounds fun, can't wait to see you. Got to go. I love you Landon." I smiled into the phone, he quickly replied.

"As I love you Lily." I did not hang up and neither did he, we laughed and he finally was the one to hang up. I was finishing lunch, when someone sat beside me. He had buzzed brown hair and had brown eyes, he was built, but not as built has Landon. Landon had grew his hair out, which is now close to his shoulders, which I personally loved. This boy had more of a boyish look to him, then a manly look like Landon.

"Hello my name is John." He stuck out his hand, waiting for me to shake it.

"Hi, I am Lily" I spoke shyly, I was not the best at being social. We shook hands and he smiled .

"I am sorry that people are being mean to you. I know what it is like to be the preachers child. Me and my family moved from Colorado, so know one knows me here, which is a nice fresh start. I am know longer the preachers son, I am just John. I thought we could be friends." He spoke looking up at the sky. I smiled and nodded.

"Finally, someone understands. I would love to be friends. " I said smiling at John, we talked until the bell rang. I told him about the fight with me and my parents, and about Landon. He listened the whole time, and waited until I was done to give his opinion. He walked to the parking lot, where Landon stood infront of his truck. His arms crossed and his hair now touching his shoulders. He was some sight. The girls guaked and stared at the mysterious cowboy. I giggled and he walked up to grabbing my waist and kissing me, hard. I heard the gasps and mumbling of my high school peers. He pulled away, leaving my breathless.

"Now that will give them something else to talk about. Let's go, we have to get back at four." He spoke holding out his hand, I nodded but held him there. I turned to look at John, who was smirking at me .

"Wait! Landon this is my friend John. John this is my boyfriend Landon." Landon eyed John sepiciously, before holding out his hand. John took it and they shook hands.

"Nice to meet ya. But we better get going." Landon spoke strongly, I nodded and Landon took my bag in one hand and mine in the other.

"It was nice meeting you Landon, I have heard many things about you. I will call you later Lily. Have fun on your date." John smiled before walking off to his car. Everyone was still shocked from Landons little stunt. The car ride was filled with silence.

"Who is that John guy." Landon quetioned, clenching the steering wheel. Confused at his sudden anger.

"He is a friend. He is a preacher's son, and understands what I am going through." I spoke defending John, he did nothing wrong.
