How Did We Not Notice This Before Now

He arranges the horse tying up for a bit and then says lightly to the horse "Get your mood settled or you will get the 'blocks to your fetlocks' when we get back."

I have an immediate image of a horse in the stall with each leg pairs joined by stockade style wooden bars. Leaving a horse unable to shift legs or lay down.

I ask the guy if they really hobble horses in stalls.

He starts off saying how they haven't done it a many generations and it's just an expression. Then he stops and looks quite earnestly at me before saying "The rulers of Odren were broken."

Quickly I reply "Wait who are the rulers of Odren?"

He points to the damsel who says "Our family crest is 'fallen'."

I smile at the cute pun.

The guy then says "She must be telepathic. She understands little known phrases in obscure forgotten languages and even discerns secret speak.

Would you now try saying words you would not expect us to know.

I throw out " 'Aloha', 'Sayonara', 'Byebye', 'Aloha'"

The damsel comes back with "Hello-goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, Goodbye-hello; and I just noticed your words do not match what we hear."

He pulls out a small ring and scribbles inside. Clapping his hand the ring vanishes in a small flash.

As he tells me he is calling for a more senior member of the realm, a mage magically appears in a small whirlwind of grey smoke.
