A few other men and women arrive on and off wearing those cream and white robes.
They ask me questions.
"How would you solve this disk problem; if you had less strength?"
We discuss various pulleys with slings that would attach to points already built at the top.
"What do you think of various number series and models?"
We discuss the concept of models as useful, but only within those regions where the model could apply to something.
It feels like the whole village must be out here with me.
That is when a strange noise caught my ear. That kind of crackle in the air, something tearing the air at supersonic speed.
The noise ended, but then a large gust of hot wind causes all the treetops to sway. Birds flying off in chaotic directions.
The dragon floated into view overhead, sliding forward slowly like a blimp.
I get it. She had to move quite fast and slowed to let me see her.
She tips her head skyward and bends a wing. Heading upward in a slow twirl.
I raise my hand and say "So Long My Friend, I hope to see you soon."
The dragon slides into a fissure that opens and is gone.
Most everyone stares into the sky. Except those around me, they stare at me.
I think I get it. They are looking at someone that waves to a dragon like a friend would.
The mage and those people in robes walk towards me.
"We think you should stay here, if you are willing. Your arrival might have been foretold."
