The gladiator tells them that the coin problem can be corrected, but they should hurry.
Taking them across the cobble street and down the row of shops, he stops before a window display. He asks, "Of the old dresses and clothes here on display, which can you say are definitely from this continent?"
The father and daughter petitioners point out three dresses with thin waists and wide long skirt hems.
"We should buy them."
Once inside, they are met by a woman roughly the same age as the father. As for those dresses, they will only be sold to someone that can actually wear them.
Breathing proves a little difficult for the daughter while wearing those dresses, but if she stands very tall, it is a lovely look.
The father starts to haggle and saleswoman just pauses for a while, "OK, all three for the coins you have. I will sew a shop label on the backs of each dress as advertising in lieu of low price."
As she adds small cloth shop labels with four quickly stitches, she as tells the daughter the labels can come off for any event where she would wear these dresses. The shop woman obviously looking at the gladiator while she talks.
The shop woman wraps the dresses in wide paper and follows them to the door. Being sure to have her hand up as the gladiator and father pass by. Both men gently hold her hand just before leaving.
The gladiator leads them all quickly down to the dock and onto a formal looking sailing boat of three masts (two large masts, and a jib mast).
Getting on board at the lower deck, they are inspected by the crew and lead to a very nice room.
