Obnoxious Oxygen

Chapter Eighteen

"Oh my God! Yay!" I screamed raising my hand, beaming as I turned to look at Oxygen who placed our final card face-up onto the center pile. "We won!"

He didn't say anything more than just a chuckle, his arm reached my waist, drawing me closer to him and I came willingly. Resting my back on his chest as I was seated between his legs, above the carpet.

"Ang daya daya talaga!" Anja snarled angrily at Oxygen. "Bakit hindi mo nilapag 'yon kanina?"

"Edi natalo kami kung ginawa ko 'yon. Walang daya dun, Anja. Tanga ka lang talaga." Tumatawa niyang sagot sakanyang kapatid, tinapik ko ang kaniyang braso atsaka muling binalingan.

"Tama na,"

"Daya mo parin, gago." Naiinis na iniligpit ni Anja ang mga baraha, sila Titanium at Audrey naman ay tinawanan lamang ang mga kapatid. "Akala mo naman ang galing mo na sa lagay na yan, puro ka kadayaan. Nakakabwisit ka."

"Kapag natatalo ka, dinaya." Mapang-asar paring sabi ni Oxygen. "Come on, Anja. It's just a game-"

"Pakyu, ulul."

I just shook my head. Anja is so very Oxygen, there's no doubt about it. We've finished three games of Egyptian Ratscrew, it's me and Oxygen versus his three sisters. Since I didn't know how to play the game, they had me team-up with their brother. And we won straight. Before the game started, Tami already said that Oxygen knows how to play any card games pretty well and he just proved it. And through this game, I've learned that Oxygen has a sharp memory in pattern recognition and is speedy.

"Okay ka lang?" He whispered on my ear, the touch of his breath to my skin made me flinch and cover my ear with my shoulder. I tried to move away but he just chuckled, drawing me closer to him. "Nakikiliti ka?"

"No," I denied. I looked around, his sisters seems very busy on what they're doing. Titanium is on her phone, Audrey is, too. And Anja's still murmuring curses to Oxygen as she kept the cards back to the box.

"Weh?" Muling inilapit ni Oxygen ang kaniyang mukha saking tenga, this time, I wasn't able to avoid the kiss he planted there. "Sigurado ka ba na okay lang sayo kung dito na tayo matutulog?"

I nodded my head. During lunch, his dad invited us to stay for the night. Kanina pa ako niyayayang umuwi ni Oxygen, he's worried about me getting upset from the encounter I had with his mom. I told him that I'm fine, besides his mom didn't do anything wrong to me. She just informed me that she isn't my fan and I accepted it. In this world, you won't get everyone to like you. Although, I wanted her to like me. For what reason, that I don't know. After our conversation at the kitchen, his mom avoided me like a plague. She won't even glance at my direction and I think that's better rather than have her watch my every move.

I want Oxygen to spend more time with his sisters, I don't want to take this moment from them. Knowing that Titanium will soon go back to Italy, they really need to spend time together. Though Oxygen made sure that I won't be left alone, he had me on his waist every darn time. After lunch, we watched a movie in their theatre room. Oxygen wants me to choose what to play but I refused, this isn't my house and it's their day. They should be the ones agreeing on what movie they're gonna watch. Then dinner came, we had an all grilled meal prepared by their parents. And right after dinner, Anja suggested that we play card games. Tito Exodus excused themselves to us, saying that they're gonna do something important and they will be back in a jiffy.

Spending the whole day with Oxygen and his family made me see how great they were raised by their parents. I like how they looked up to them like they can do no wrong. And I also like how much of a caveman his dad was to his mom. It's as if he's always up and about to stake his claim.
