Obnoxious Oxygen

Chapter Thirty Five

I don't have to be smart to know that Janine has something to do about this whole Cassandra thing. One look at her and I could tell that she's got her eyes to my man. And that's not okay with me.

Oxygen tried to talk me over about going to Janine, saying that he can handle it on his own and that I don't have to worry. Well unfortunately, he can't. If he really can get ahold of this issue, it should've been resolved right from the very moment.

"Janine has been out of town for a couple of weeks now, I tried to talk to her but I couldn't find her. Hindi ko alam kung ngayon, maabutan natin siya sa Bahay niya. Ilang beses din akong sumubok na puntahan siya dyan, pero laging walang tao." He said, keeping his eyes on the road.

"Criminal trying to escape," I rolled my eyes.

When his car entered an exclusive subdivision, he turned to me. He seem unsure, he doesn't have to say a word. I already know he's worrying.

"I'm okay, Oxygen. You can trust me. I won't do anything stupid, my God. Never in my life would I indulge a catfight. That's pathetic."

Hindi na niya sinagot pa iyon at nagpatuloy na lamang sa pagmamaneho. I looked over the window and my fist balled on the skirt of the dress I'm wearing. In a few, he stopped up front of a well-appointed house.

I didn't wait for his curtsey to open the car door for me, I did it myself. Hindi ko na rin siya hinintay pa na makababa, lumapit na akong kaagad sa dalawang gate na may katamtamang taas at laki upang hanapin ang doorbell at pindutin iyon. I'm not planning to stay long, so I repeatedly pressed it. No one's coming out from the fancy house.

Oxygen stood behind me. "Wala sigurong tao."

"How come a house like this doesn't have a maid?" Inis ko pa ring hindi sinukuan ang doorbell, though I know that there's more likely no one inside.

"Janine pays an on call housekeeper." Simple niyang sabi.

"And you know so much, huh?" I shot back in annoyance.

"Huwag mong sabihin na pag-seselosan mo pa iyon? That was long ago, Gabby." Malumanay niyang sabi bago abutin ang aking palapulsuhan mula sa likuran upang patigilin ako sa paninira ng doorbell ng may doorbell. "Halika na, uwi na tayo. Walang tao."

Ayoko. I'm not leaving, I feel unsatisfied. But what will I do? Huge percent of a hundred is saying that no one's in there. I'm near to giving up when a heavily tinted Land Rover came, Oxygen's eyes immediately went to that direction and a deep frown formed in his face.

"Who do I owe this visit from?" Those were Janine's first words when she get off the passenger seat of the car. She didn't even look back to see the car heading out, to where Oxygen have set his eyes on,

"Bakit kasama mo si Zach?" Diretsang tanong niya kay Janine bago ilipat rito ang matalim na tingin.

I was a bit shock, I thought he didn't know where Zach is? Kaya nga siya palaging sinasamahan ni Ethan, dahil nagba-baka sakali itong matunton nito si Zach sa pamamagitan niya. Was he hiding Zach from everyone? I get that Zach is his bestfriend, but how about Sasa? I couldn't imagine how hard all these thing are for her.

"Wala," Janine moved her shoulders like nothing as she walked towards the gates.

"Anong wala? Janine, I know that was Zach you were with." Angil ni Oxygen.

"Wala kang pakialam, Oxygen." She chuckled, her eyes shifted on me. She did a quick scan from my head down to my foot. Then she returned her eyes back to Oxygen. "What are you doing here? If you hadn't brought... wait, I'm not good with names. I can't remember who she is." She gave me a smug smile, oh how bad I wanna back her up the gate and throttle her neck to death. "If you hadn't brought her with you, I would've thought you might wanna scratch some itch. I mean, I'd be willing to. You know, I'm always willing when it comes to you."
