Avery was like an empty shell as she walked from class to class, hot at her heels was Lucian Cifer. He didn't pester her with questions or snide remarks, just trailing behind his gaze still intense on Avery. Her mind is elsewhere and it's what causes her to almost walk into a wall if it wasn't for Lucian who pulled on her bag so she doesn't, snapping her out of this daze. "Might watch where you're walking" Lucian's voice is loud and harsh making Avery flinch but nods her head. "What class do you have next?" He asks dragging Avery by the handle of her backpack.

"It's first break" she mumbles her feet dragging as he takes her towards, her secret place. "Let's have lunch then" he stops and pushes her to the ground, but not with too much force that Avery lands with a soft thud. Avery takes her bag from her back and clutches it to her chest as Lucian takes a seat across her, leans back onto his forearms as he flashes her a devilish smile. Avery could feel the blood rush to her cheeks and she was sure they were bright red, she tried to remember where she might know him from but nothing comes to mind.

And she sure wasn't going to ask him, with his intense stares and smirk plastered on his face. It was just all too intimidating for Avery, she took out her bottle of water and was about to take a sip when it's snatched from her hands. Lucian drains almost half the bottle before giving it back to her, Avery frowns not liking the possibility of his germs infecting her and she puts her bottle back into her bag.

The bell rings and Avery lets out a small breath of relief, she gets up slowly avoiding eye contact and walks off with her head ducked down. She hears footsteps behind her but she knows he wouldn't follow her, there was no chance in hell that they had the same classes. She went inside saying a quiet hello to the teacher before taking her seat, Avery took a moment to fill her lungs with air before taking out her books. Avery couldn't concentrate in class at all, her mind kept drifting back and forth between her father and Lucian Cifer. There was just something about him that didn't quite add up.

Her thoughts were disrupted by the sound of the bell and Avery was surprised that an hour had come and gone by so quickly. Her feet shuffled out of the classroom against the heavily scuffed floor as she made her way to her next class, a tall familiar figure stepped in her way. Looking up Avery saw the familiar smirk of Thanatos and her feet halted to a stop as she almost bumped into him. Her eyes went back to the ground as her hands gripped her bag straps so tightly that her knuckles were becoming white.

"Hello sweetheart" he whispers in her ear, Avery could feel his hot breath against her skin and she wanted to cringe at this close contact. "Where have you been I've missed you" he flirted and Avery wanted to get away but he had trapped her against the wall each of his arms leaned either side of her head, caging her in. He leaned in so that his face was right in front of Avery, all she could focus on was him for some reason his eyes was all she could stare into like she was hypnotised by them.

They were almost about to kiss when Thanatos is roughly pulled away from Avery and punched in the nose. Avery slides to the ground trying to catch her breath as she clutches her chest. Her surrounding is a blur as she shakily gets up using the wall for support and she rushes off to class, her entire body is physically shaking as she takes her seat. When the bell finally rang she was still and silent staring at her book but her mind wasn't focused on the page, more on Thanatos and how he almost kissed her. The thought of him kissing her made Avery want to disappear, she was embarrassed.

Avery didn't realise that the stress was building up inside her until she was halfway into class, the loud talking of the people around her. The teacher yelling for everyone to be quiet, her head was throbbing and she stood up swiftly suddenly feeling extremely dizzy. Avery's teacher was talking rapidly at her but she was unaffected just walking zombie-like out of the classroom, for once Avery didn't give a damn about upsetting a teacher or the small comment from her classmates.

Avery just made it into the girl's bathroom before she collapsed against the wall, she clung to the dirty tiles not caring about the bacteria she just needed the stability of it as she broke down in heavy sobs. She didn't notice the door swing open before her body was in a soft warm embrace, she tried to push the body away but their grip tightened and Avery gave up fighting and sobbed in their arms she clung to the body rather than the wall. Avery heard the door swing open again and the sound of two girls talking before it was silent and the door swung again meaning whoever just walked in had seen and walked right back out.

There are no comforting words said, when Avery calms down. The warm body that embraced her let out a sigh before they swiftly left the girls bathroom their identity still unknown to Avery. She took a few breaths before getting up, Avery splashed water onto her face leaning against the sink. She was about to leave the bathroom to get her bag and go home when she notices that it's on the ground with a small note written on top. It says "probably shouldn't forget this next time you decide to skip class".
