Fast forward to Monday, true to his word Lucian was waiting in her driveway. But surprisingly he wasn't sitting in his car. Standing on the footpath outside her house, his bag slung on one shoulder while he stared at his phone. He looked up just as Avery began staring at him just a moment too long, he smiled and waved at her. Avery blushed, ducking her head and backing away from the window.

"Dad, I'm going to school now will you be alright here on your own?" she asks popping into the kitchen to find her dad reading the newspaper, he nods.

"Yes Avery dear, I'm not a child" he chuckles kissing her on the forehead. "Have a great day kiddo" her father sings jokingly as Avery closes the front door behind her.

"Good morning," she greets Lucian who flashes her a tired smile in return. "Did you get enough sleep last night?" Avery asks slightly concerned only just noticing the dark circles under his eyes.

"I don't sleep, too much work to catch up with" he avoids her gaze, quickening his step so his face is hidden from her view. Very walks behind him trying to figure out what to say to him, hoping to make his situation a little better.

"Chamomile tea" she finally says taking long strides to walk beside him, "I heard it helps with sleep" she adds on a bit quieter this time.

He chuckles softly ruffling her hair, "I'll try it" Avery smiles at his response.

They get to school just as the first bell rings, Avery goes off to her English class Lucian not far behind her. She lowers her head noticing a few more stares than usual. Avery quickens her steps practically sprinting to the classroom.

"Good morning" Avery greeted the teacher quickly rushing to her seat.

"Good morning Avery, did you have a good weekend?" her teacher replied looking up from his laptop. She nods not finding any words to initiate any further conversation.

The one hour class seemed to speed by quickly, soon Avery realised that the bell to end class had rung and everyone was packing up and leaving the room.

Walking out of the classroom Avery is surprised to see sleepy Lucian leaning against the door frame with his eyes shut, tapping his shoulder his eyes open slowly, she gives him a soft smile. "Time to eat" her voice is soft as he follows her to the library.

"You said it was time to eat?" Lucian questions her as they walk through the library doors.

"I thought you could have a nap" Avery replies to his question putting her bag behind the counter and picking up a stack of books to be returned. "Don't worry if you sleep in the history corner the Librarian shouldn't catch you" he smiles at her statement.

They walk together, Lucian taking a seat on the floor leaning against the bookshelf. Avery putting books back in their rightful places on the shelf. they kept stealing quick glances from each other before Lucian drifted off to sleep, or at least until Avery thought he was sleeping.

Finishing up with her pile of books, Avery takes a moment to study Lucians sleeping face. Crouching so their faces were just across from each other, she looked at his features.

"You know it's rude to stare at people while they sleep" Lucian murmurs opening his eyes and effectively giving Avery a fright.

She falls back in surprise, encouraging a laugh from Lucian and a small yelp of pain from Avery. "that's not funny" she groans sitting up glaring holes into Lucian's head.

Avery quickly gets up, she dusts off her clothes and goes back to the counter, a new pile of books waiting for her. Looking back she sees Lucian having disappeared from his spot the only thing there is his bag, "I wonder where he went" she talks to herself before busily putting the books away.

Out of the corner of her eye, she spots a figure hunched over in another corner of the bookshelves recognising Lucian's outfit she walks over slowly. Peeking over his shoulder Avery notices him having pulled out one of the books from the religion section.

"Christianity?" she asks startling Lucian, he drops the book landing pages up giving Avery a better view on what he was looking at.

"Don't do that" Lucian growls shoving past Avery, he grabs his bag and storms out of the library oblivious to all the stares from students and a lecture from the librarian.

Picking up the book Avery dusts off the cover she flicks through some of the pages and notices one that is marked, it was the same one that Lucian was looking at.

God's Angels

Archangel - an angel of high status is an of high. The word "archangel" itself is usually associated with, but beings that are very similar to archangels are found in a number of religious traditions. The English word archangel is derived from the ἀρχάγγελος (arch- + angel, literally "chief angel" or "angel of origin"). It appears only twice in the New Testament in the phrase "with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God"

Avery sees a worn sticky note of the section under Archangel it read,

"The devil is real, and he's not a little red man with horns and a tail. He can be beautiful because he's a fallen angel, and he used to be God's favourite"

Avery whispered the words and wondered if it was Lucian who had put it there.

Taking the post-it note from the page and closing the book, Avery puts the book back onto the shelf, Avery carefully folds the post-it note and places it carefully in her pocket.

"I've cleaned up the religion section and made a head start on the history section, I'll come back during lunch to continue" Avery talks to the librarian on her way out.

"I need to apologize to Lucian" Avery comments to herself.

Before walking into Thanatos, "long time no see sweetheart"
