They both were waken up by a doctor that came in to check up on her. James took a step back and watched as the doctor asked her some questions.
"How long has it been since you eaten a real meal?" the doctor said concerned
Catherine eyes began to water. She looked to James.
"It's alright Catherine I'm right here, just answer the questions they're important." he said reassuring her everything was okay
She nodded and said "2 months ago, Ive been skipping meals and just having little pieces of food here and there."
"Do you know that is very unhealthy for you?" the doctor said with arched eyebrows
"Yes." she replied very disappointed at herself
"Okay we are going have to call your parental guardian in to fill out some paperwork to let you go. But you will need to get some more bandages for your arms and some therapy."
"No please don't call my dad and I don't need therapy!"
She was very worried about what her dad was going to say and why she needed therapy she didn't think she was crazy.
"We are required to have your parental guardian to sign the papers and you will need to consult a therapist about your anorexia and about you cutting." he said before walking out of the room
She looked at James with worry in her eyes. She knew she was in trouble. James hugged her and rocked her back and forth with his comforting words just like Catherine's old friend.
Bam!
The door flew open it was Catherine's dad.
"What the hell do you think you were doing?" He said with a lot of rage
Catherine backed down and sunk her head into James's shoulder. James put his hands out in front of her, protecting her from her furious dad.
"Sir, you are scaring her. She has had a rough day yesterday you just need to calm down." He said being braver than ever
Catherine's eyes widened. He just stood up to her dad, no one ever dared to do that before. Her dad's eyebrows raised in astonishment. He couldn't believe someone just said that to him. Her dad took his fist and almost threw a punch at James. Catherine let out a loud scream. Her dad stopped when he saw James already had a bruise on his jaw. Her dad stepped back. And couldn't believe what he was just about to do.
"I'm so sorry." he said with a step back and walked out of the door
"Are you okay James!?" she said checking his jaw
"Yeah." he said still trying to act strong
"You never really told me what happened to you..." she said wanting answers
"Catherine promise you won't tell anybody." He said back to her looking straight into her blue eyes
"I promise." She said knowing she wouldn't tell anyone
