(Catherine's p.o.v)

He just kissed my cheek. My body felt tingly. No. Wait. He was really about to kiss me before he got a messege. What was he hiding. He ran off too fast. Something is going on here!

*1 week later*

Catherine was just about to shut her blinds when she noticed James talking to someone in a black jacket in the middle of the street. The street lights were not bright enough and it was too dark outside. She leaned in and listened to the conversation. She heard a voice of a girl talking. The conversation went like this.

"Do you think they will notice?"She said

"I don't know, I just hope they don't find me again." He replied

"Me too, I hope we don't have to move again!" She said anxiously

"Yeah, you got that right." He said as they both walked off and he walked to his house and she walked down the long dark sidewalk

Catherine out of adrenaline and curiousness went outside and ran up to the girl in the black

jacket. She tapped her shoulder. The girl didn't look back she kept looking forward and sped up her pace. Catherine kept tapping her shoulder and asking her "Who are you?" & "What were you guys talking about!?" but the girl didn't answer. This time she took off into a bolt. She ran really fast into the night. Catherine was both scared and really confused. Now the secrets were getting to be too much and she couldn't handle it. She has to confront James. Catherine was done. She walked up to James house and sighed then knocked on the door. James opened it seeming sadder than ever. She could hear his parents furiously yelling at eachother in the background. He had bruises on his arm and the side of his face. Catherine gasped and covered her mouth. James stepped out of the house and closed the door. He seemed serious. "Oh my god. What happened to you?" she said trying not to cry

"It's nothing I was just playing around, don't worry about it." he said

"This is something! Who did this to you?I have to go get you help!" she said anxiously

"No! I don't need help. Its fine and right now is not a good time to talk. Goodnight." he replied with a stern voice he then quickly hugged her then kissed her forehead and walked back to his house and shut the door behind him. Catherine was stunned, she ran home shut the door and felt a tear roll down her eyes. How can she help someone when they won't except her help?
