Chapter 20

"Your child has whopping cough. We are going to have to keep her here and she might have to stay for some months for testing. You can visit her in that room if you would like." She continued

I broke down on my knees and started intensely crying. James tried to get me up but my knees were too weak and I just fell again. He finally got me up and led me to the room she was in.

She was hooked up to machines and the monitor was beeping a slow steady pace. Sweat beamed from her forehead. Her eyes were closed and her face looked really ill.

I hate to see her like this.

I walked up next to her bed and gently rubbed her head. I kissed her forehead and sat in the chair next to her.

James held her little hands and looked at her. Tears started to drop from his eyes. I walked up to him and gave him a tight hug while we both cried. We both didn't let go from the hug for a long time.

We stayed at the hospital for hours until the doctor came in and told us visiting hours were over.

The whole car ride was silent. Until James spoke up.

"Catherine she'll be alright." He said looking away from the road and straight at me then reaching for my hand

"How are you so sure!?" I snapped at him pulling my hand away and looking out the window

A/N: It was a short chapter sorry!

But I'll be writing until Chapter 30.
