*Justin's POV*

"Five minutes, Justin," Scooter called out to me as he scrambled to get things the way they were supposed to for the press conference.

"Are you sure you don't want to go out there with me?" I asked Selena for the tenth time today.

She nodded, "You know I don't like that kind of stuff. I'll stay here and play with Emma. We'll be here as soon as you get back." She gave me a soft smile before turning her attention to Emma.

I quickly, yet gently grabbed her arm turning her back to me. "Excuse me miss, I think you forgot something."

She smirked and played along. "And what would that be sir?"

I rolled my eyes and pulled her close to me, giving her a loving kiss. "All better," I replied after we were finished.

I looked over as I heard my name being called from down the hall. I took a deep breath and placed a kiss on her forehead. "I love you, I'll be back softly."

After leaving the room, Scooter and the crew followed behind me as we walked to the table. Before we got up to the microphones, Scooter gave me a little talk. "Answer honestly. Lying will only make things worse at this point. I'll be there to turn away any inappropriate question. Remember honest."

I nodded my head and took a deep breath before smiling and sitting at the table behind all the microphones.

"Questions?" Scooter called out pointing to a man in the first row.

"Where are you in terms of making new music?" he asked.

Luckily, I knew this game. They would start easy and try to confuse me to make me look bad, but I was going to play along like I knew nothing.

"Right now, I'm on a little break. But in a month, we will start writing and recording and go on from there."

Scooter pointed to another person in the crowd. She quickly stood up, "What is the status of you and Selena Gomez?"

A smile appeared on my face. Getting right down to business I see. "Me and Selena are currently together," I stated truthfully.

"Justin! What about the little girl that you have been seen with? Who is she?"

"That is my daughter, Emmaleigh."

"How were you able to keep her hidden for so long?" Another guy stood up to ask.

"I didn't find out I had a daughter until a little over a month ago. I quickly got custody and I'm currently trying to be the best dad I can be for her and make up lost time."

"Who's the mother?" the same guy asked.

"I'm not at liberty to say," I replied in a professional tone.

They asked me many more questions about everything. We talked about my plans for the future, more about Emma and so on. Thankfully, they were able to accept the fact that I didn't want to talk about Kate or my past with her.

When it was over, I thanked everyone with a smile before standing up and walking from the table to my girls who were waiting for me in the back.

*Selena's POV*

I sat on the sofa in the little dressing room that they had given Justin for the press conference. I looked over at Emma who was playing on my phone, sticking her tongue out in concentration just like her father. I let out a little laugh to myself as I watched her play.

"Hey, Emma?" I said.

"Mhm?" she asked not breaking her stare on the game.

"You look so much like your father. Has anyone ever told you that?"

She broke her gaze from the phone to look at me with a big smile, "Mommy used to say that."

I sighed. I knew that I wasn't Emma's mother but I still hated when she got brought up. "Do you miss her?"

She tilted her head thinking, just like Justin before nodding.

"Do you like being with us? With Justin and I?"

A big smile appeared on her face and she nodded, "Yes, I love being with you and daddy. We have so much fun."

I smiled along with her, "We do have fun, don't we?"

"We do," I heard a raspy, familiar voice say as he walked in with a smile. "And the fun will keep on going forever."

"Forever sounds good, don't you think Emma?" I asked turning to her.

She shook her head, leaving me and Justin in shock. "Forever and ever!" she yelled jumping off the sofa into Justin's arms.

Justin and I both burst into laughter. "You scared me there for a minute, princess," Justin said kissing her head as he gently bushed back fallen hair.

"How did it go?" I asked Justin.

He shrugged his shoulders falling onto the sofa next to me, with Emma still in his arms. "It wasn't too bad."

"What did they ask?" I pressed.

"The usual. They asked about us and Emma and my music, the future, they even tried to ask who Emma's mom was."

I pushed my eyebrows together in confusion, "Tried?"

"Yeah, I didn't tell them. They didn't need to know," he stated firmly.

I sighed knowing that meant they will accept it to his face but only dig into our lives deeper to find out and not leave us along until they do.

"I know what you're thinking and even if I had told them they would still press the issue," he replied cutting off my thought process.

I sighed knowing that this time he was right.

"Hey, everything going to be okay. I won't let anything bad happen to my family."

"I know," I said, "I'm just afraid about the bumps along the way."

I loved Justin with all my heart but I knew that even when we wanted something to happen, it didn't always work out. I didn't want us to separate and I would do everything in my power to prevent it but I couldn't help but let myself thing of what might happen along our journey.
