Broken Pieces Part 46

*Selena's POV*

"Then who wa-" I inhaled a deep breath and I felt the warm salty liquid fall down my face. "Taylor."

"No, there's no way," Justin said rubbing my back as I sat there in complete shock. "She was fine when she got into the ambulance. Hold on, I'm going to get the doctor and make him tell us what he means."

I sat there on my little bed frozen.

Moments passed by before Justin came back in with the doctor.

"I'm sorry, Ms. Gomez. I thought someone had already came in here to talk to you. You're not pregnant anymore," he said.

"Anymore?" Justin asked.

"Yes, Mr. Bieber. It seems that during the accident something hit Ms. Gomez in the stomach and it caused her to lose the baby."

"How far along was she?"

"No more than 3 months," he said with a nod.

I removed myself from the conversation as I tried my best to sort things out in my own head. Taylor was okay which was good. But she was also right about me being pregnant but it was too late. I had lost the thing that I had wanted from the start.

I will admit the idea of me being pregnant scared me at first. Justin and I hadn't wanted a baby until later on in our life's but it seems that God didn't care and had other plans for us. Maybe it just wasn't our time for a child.

Or maybe we were supposed to have a baby and I messed it all up. Justin told me not to go, but I did it anyway. I was the one who caused all of this.

"I know what you're thinking, Selena," Justin said interrupting my thoughts. "It's not your fault. It was just bad luck."

"No it wasn't Justin. You don't have to sugar coat everything. You told me not to but I did it anyway. This is my fault and you know it."

"Accidents happen, Sel. We learn from our mistakes and we move on. It's part of life," he said with a shrug.

"So you don't care that I killed our daughter or son? You don't care that our child is now dead?" I said raising my voice.

"Of course I care Selena! But there is nothing I can do about it now!" He yelled back at me.

"Just go," I said harshly.

His mouth dropped and his eyed softened, "Are you serious?"

I turned my face in the opposite direction "Get out."

I heard him huff as the chair moved across the tile floors making an annoying sound. I kept my face turned until I heard the opening and closing of the door.

*Justin's POV*

I walked around the hospital trying to get my fight with Selena out of my head. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes and counted to ten while I waited in the elevator to go up to Emma's room.

I walked down the hallway that I had been to when we arrived at the hospital earlier. When I entered the room, I noticed that it was empty. I walked about into the hallway to check the door number to make sure this was the right room. It was.

I walked over to the front desk to ask them is Emma had been moved rooms. "Hi, Can you tell me where the little girl who was in room 501 went?"

The nurse turned around looking at a file and turning back to me, "Sir she was checked out a few moments ago."

I nodded turning on my heels back to the elevator. While I waited for the elevator to take me back to Selena's floor, I tried to call Kate but she didn't pick up.

I walked back towards Selena's room when I heard shouting coming from one of the rooms. All voiced I recognized.

"How dare you be so reckless! You could have gotten my daughter killed!" Kate yelled causing me to run towards the room.

"It was an accident!" Selena yelled in response. "And she's just as much my daughter as she is yours!"

I heard Kate laugh bitterly, "If you think for one second that you are any kind of mother to her, you are delusional!"

I watched as Selena rolled her eyes towards Kate, "You're just jealous! You have always been jealous of me! You're jealous that Justin picked me! And I bet you anything Emma likes me a lot more than she likes you, she's just too scared to tell you!"

"KATE, SELENA stop this right now!" I yelled, putting myself in between them.

"Justin, she was so careless! She could have killed Emma don't you see that?" Kate pleaded.

"Yes, Katherine I know. Okay, but she didn't. It was an accident," I said to her in a soft voice.

"Jay, are you going to let her talk to me like that?" Selena asked causing me to break my gaze with Kate.

I turned my head to look at Selena and shook my head slowly. "No, I'm just going to get out. Just like you wanted. If anything else happens, don't call me. Come on Kate."

I picked up Emma who had her hands over her ears due to all the yelling that was going on.

Kate sent Selena a smirk before walking out of the room behind me.

Emma slowly began to let go of her ears as we sat in the waiting room. "Daddy?" she asked.

"What is it baby?" I said giving her a soft smile.

"Are you and Selly fighting?" she asked innocently.

"No honey. We just need some space to breathe for a minute."

"Are you breaking up?" she asked after a few minutes.

"Of course not. I love Selena. Sometimes we just don't agree. All couples go through that," I said trying to explain it best as possible.

"Good. I like her. Don't let her go," Emma said as she laid her head on my chest.
