*Justin's POV*

"Okay, look at it this way. You, Kate and Selena are all in a car on a bridge that was hit by an 18-wheeler. The car is about to go over the side of the bridge and you only have time to save one girl. Who is it?" Alfredo said looking at me waiting for my answer.

"Selena," I said. "No, I would save Kate. Is both an option?"

Fredo let out a laugh and shook his head, "It looks like you got a lot of thinking to do."

I put my empty beer bottle on the coffee table and leaned back against the pillows on the sofa.

-

"Sel are you going to come with me?" I yelled out of the closet ad I threw on one of my nicest shirts.

"I already told you no," she groaned.

"Okay, well now I'm telling you that you don't have a choice. Get up and hurry and get dressed. You don't have to go in the court room but you do have to at least be there. We are going to the studio to meet with some writers after, remember?"

"Okay, fine. I'm coming."

-

"Since we all agree that the pervious set motion is working this case is dismissed," the judge said before getting off the stand and walking into the back room.

I smiled and thanked my lawyer before standing up and walking toward the double door.

"Justin, wait!" Kate called causing me to stop.

"What's wrong Kate?" I asked concerned.

"Nothing, it's just me and a few friends were going out this weekend and wanted to know if you and maybe a few of your friends would like to go?"

"And how does Mason feel a about that?" I asked raising an eyebrow, moving my head in the direction in which Mason was standing.

"What Mason doesn't know won't hurt him," she stated confidently.

"How do you think Selena would feel?"

She let out a laugh. "Same goes for her. Come on, it'll be fun."

I sighed a bit the inside of my cheek. "Fine, but don't tell anyone. I mean it Kate. If it gets out, I'm blaming you and we will never ever talk again, got it?"

"Yes, sir," she said before turning and walking back over to where Mason was standing.

I sighed knowing that being with Kate would cause me to do something I would regret later, but I couldn't tell her no. I had to be with her again, and the only way to do that was without Selena.

Plus, I would have Fredo there and Twist to watch to make sure I don't do anything too bad. What was the worst that could happen?

*Selena's POV*

"Emma, do you have plenty of toys for when we get there?" Justin asked as we sat in the car on the way to the offices in which my mom and Scooter had booked us to meet with some writers.

"Yes, daddy," she said swinging her legs as she looked out the window checking for any sign that something might go wrong.

I couldn't help but feel like that was all my fault. I was the one who caused her to be afraid to ride in the car. If I would have been more careful, everything would be okay. I would still be pregnant and we could get in the car without tensing up and having a flashback to what happened.

It even made me a little nervous to get in the car. I couldn't even imagine how we would be when it started raining and we had to go somewhere. I knew that Emma for sure would have another panic attack and I don't think I could handle it.

"It's okay, babe. I won't let anything happen to you," Justin gave my hand a squeeze.

I don't know how but he always seemed to know exactly what I was thinking. It's like we were made for each other. Or maybe I was just easy to read.

After we pulled into a spot in the studio, Justin and I spent hours talking to a bunch of different song writers. We talked about everything from writing our own stuff to co-writing to when thinking of buying some songs for me. Justin always wrote and co-wrote his music so that wasn't even an option for him.

Justin and I were even booked a room for a while to write. I sat on the floor staring at the blank page in front of me as Justin was writing his heart out on his piece of paper. I sighed and leaned my back up against the sofa that was in the room.

Why couldn't I be like him? Why couldn't I have the song writing gene?

Justin turned around in his big black leather rollie chair, "What's wrong love?"

"Why can't I write songs?"

"You are better at other things like acting. I can't act, but I can write songs."

"That's not true. You can act. You're Jason McCann."

He let out a laugh, "I would hardly call that acting. I was on two episodes and you have to admit I was a bad actor. But that's okay because that's not my thing. My thing is singing and writing."

I sighed and nodded, "I guess you're right."

"Of course I am," he said with a wink causing me to laugh.

Emma laid down her baby doll and looked over at the two of us, "Can we go home now? I'm bored."

Justin sighed and looked back at the song he was currently writing.

"I... I can take her and you can stay here if you-you want?" I said nervously.

I hadn't been behind the wheel of a car since the accident and broken leg I wasn't really in any condition to drive but I didn't want Justin to have to put a stop on his creativity to cater to our needs.

"No, it's okay. I can finish at home," he said as he folded up the paper and side it into the pocket of his jacket. "Come on let's blow this popsicle stand," He said causing both Emma and I to burst into laughter.
