Broken Pieces Part 37

*Selena's POV*

"Oh my gosh! That was so much fun!" Taylor yelled as we walked through the parking lot, back to her car.

"Who knew having a real tea party at our age would be so fun?" I replied smiling happily as I held onto Emma's hand.

"I knew! Tea parties are always fun. You can never be too old for a tea party," Emma said looking up at us.

I helped her get in her car seat in the back before getting in myself.

"We have to do that more often," Taylor said as she started up the car.

"That would be great. We can make it our thing. Just the three of us. We could do it like once a month," I said, looking back at Emma who was nodding in agreement.

"Sounds amazing," Taylor said.

Taylor and Emma clicked right off the bat. You would have thought they were long lost sisters or something with the way they clicked. And in a lot of ways, Emma did remind me of Taylor.

I looked down as I felt my phone vibrate in my hands.

I looked over at Taylor before sliding the answer bar and pressing the phone up to my ear. "Hello?"

"Baby, are you almost home?" Justin asked through the phone.

"Uh, yeah. We are on our way right now why?"

"We still have to meet Kate for the drop off," he answered.

I put my free hand to my head and rubbed my face. I had completely forgotten that. "Okay, okay. We are about to turn down the street. Be there in a minute. Love you," I said before hanging up the phone.

I threw my phone into my bag as Taylor pulled into the drive way. I turned and hugged her tight.

"Thank you. We had a lot of fun. Emma is going to Kate's for the weekend so I'll call you and we can go out and catch up," I said giving her a look at yelled 'we need to talk.'

She nodded her head, "Sounds good. See you then. Bye Emma!" she yelled to Emma as I got her out of the car.

We walked in the house with Justin nowhere to be found.

"Jay?" I called out.

"In Emma's room!" he called from up the stairs.

"What are you doing, Daddy?" Emma asked as she skipped into her room.

"Well princess, you have to go visit your mom for the weekend so I'm packing some of your things," he said throwing some clothes into Emma's Disney Princess backpack.

"But I don't want to go," Emma pouted climbing onto her little bed.

"I don't want you to go either, but you have to or both you and I get in trouble and I won't be able to see you anymore, and you'll have to live with your mom. We don't want that do we?"

She sniffled before shaking her head, "No. But I want to stay here, with you and Selly."

"Honey, we want you to too, but you'll have fun with your mom," I said sitting next to her on the bed rubbing her back softly.

"Okay I have everything let's go," Justin said as he zipped up the bag throwing it on his back causing me to laugh.

*Justin's POV*

"Justin can we go back?" Selena asked as we sat in the car driving to the meeting spot that Kate and I had agreed on.

"Why? Did we forget something?" I asked in a panic.

"No, I just...I don't want to be here. I feel out of place."

"Babe, we are about to be married. You are going to be Emma's official step mother and there is nothing Kate can do about it. You're just as much a part of this as I am."

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her shake her head and look out the window. "I think this is something you should have done alone," she mumbled.

"No. We are in this together," I said pulling into an almost empty parking lot.

I parked next to the only other car in the lot which I knew belonged to Kate.

"Come on girls," I said as I got out.

After getting Emma out, I kissed her head and gave her a big hug before she went to Sel doing the same thing.

"Bye Princess. I'll be back to get you on Sunday," I said waving to her.

Kate put her in the car before coming back over to Selena and me. I wrapped my arm around Selena's waist out of habit and gave Kate an irritated look.

"Was she good for you?" Kate asked.

"Of course she was. I know how to handle my daughter, Kate," I bite at her.

There was a slam of a door that came from Kate's car, causing us all to look over at way.

"Is there a problem here babe?" I heard a voice say as a man walked around the corner of the car.

I looked at him, wondering why he looked so familiar.

I felt Selena stiffen in my arms as she stared at the man in disbelief. "Mason?" she asked in shocked tone.

Oh, now I know where I knew him from. He was the prick who tried to kiss my fiancée.

"What are you doing here?" she asked scooting closer to me.

"He's with me," Kate chimed in with a smirk. "I didn't know you two knew each other."

"Yeah, we went out a few times. It meant nothing," Mason said as he took Kate's hand in his.

I huffed a breath. "That's not what you were saying when you kissed my girl," I muttered causing Selena to elbow in in the ribs.

"What?" Kate asked looking over at me.

"I think we should go. Come on, Jay," Selena said pulling my hand as she walked toward the car.

"Well that was..." I started as we got into the car.

"Unexpected," she finish my sentence nodding in agreement.
