Broken pieces

Part 16

*Selena's POV*

I woke up in an unfamiliar bed. One that wasn't my own. So it wasn't just a dream. I really was in Taylor's house and Justin really had cheated on me with his 'Baby Momma' Kate. I knew that I had to get up and go get my things from what used to be our house.

I got out of bed and threw my hair up in a messy bun before throwing on some sweats I had in my suitcase from my trip to Dallas.

I looked around the quiet house noticing Taylor was already gone. I sighed, grabbed my keys and took off.

After picking up the moving van, I drove to the all too familiar neighborhood. This would be the last time I'd be seeing this, I thought to myself. I backed into the drive way before getting out and walking to the big mahogany front door.

I only had to knock once before Justin appeared looking like a zombie. For one split second, I actually felt sorry for him until I remember he was the one who caused all of this.

"Selena, please let me explain," he pleaded as I walked right past him and up the stairs to our old bedroom.

Before I even walked in the room my eyes were filled with tears. I wiped away a few that had fallen, blinking away the ones that were in my eyes.

There were so many memories in the one little room. This was the place that Justin asked me to be his. This was the place we first made love. This was were we stayed up all night watching Friends. This is where Justin and I would come after heated fights. This was the place that Justin had proposed.

No, I had to be strong. No matter how much it hurt I couldn't give into him. I deserved better than that. It was too late for sorry.

"Selena, can we just forget about this? We can go to counseling or whatever you want. Can we just forgive and forget? It was an accident. She kissed me."

I turned around to face Justin, "And did you kiss back?"

I saw his eyes start to go all over the room. I let out a deep breath and shook my head before continuing to pack.

After I finished packing my clothes and pictures from the bedroom, I brought down the boxes to the van that was waiting outside.

"Selena please don't go," Justin whispered to me after I put the last box in the van.

I closed it up not wanting to turn around because I knew he would be able to see right through my lie. "Sometimes love slips away and you just can't get it back. Let's face it."

At that very moment I want to turn around and run into Justin's arms but I knew I had to be strong for myself. That would be counter active for me to turn around. So I took another step with the keys tight in my hands. I took a deep breath before whispering, "Goodbye Justin."

*Justin's POV*

As soon as she left I fell on the floor and let the tears take me over. The worst part was knowing this was all my fault. I had caused all this pain for me and Selena. I have hurt her worse than I ever had before.

In the middle of my emotional roller coaster my phone went off.

"Teen pop Sensation, Justin Bieber, and his long time girlfriend, Selena Gomez, have called a quits." The article read. I clicked on it reading the information. "Gomez was spotted today moving her things into a moving van outside of shared house. Reports are claiming that both Justin and Selena were crying. Is this the end to Jelena? What happened between the two?"

I couldn't take it anymore. I threw my phone across the room. I watched it hit the wall before falling to the wooden floors.

I put my head in my hands and cried.

-

"Hey man. Are you sure you want to start working right now. You're supposed to have a few more weeks off," Scooter said.

After I gathered myself from the emotional breakdown I had this morning, I knew that I had to let my feelings out in a song. That was the only way I was able to fully express myself.

"I just need to write right now. Who knows maybe we can get it done early and record it and I can perform it at the American Music Awards in a few weeks."

He nodded and left me alone to write all that I was feeling.

I let myself pour out onto the piece of paper. I don't think I had ever written a song so true, so emotional. I wasn't holding anything back.

After arranging it into the way I wanted it I took my newly written song to scooter to look at.

He read it before looking up at me with wide eyes, "Wow."

"What do you think? Do you like it?" I asked nervously.

"Justin, it's really putting Selena on blast, don't you think?"

"I just wrote what I felt. I want to preform it. This is the song I want to sing."

"I don't know if that's a good idea. I mean, Selena's going to be there." I didn't know why he kept bringing her up. No one in the office knew why we had broken up just that we had broken up and it wasn't a very clean break.

"I need to do this song Scooter. This is what I need."

He sighed and rubbed his temples before nodding, "Okay, I'll book a recording session."

"Thank you Scooter. I promise the performance will be amazing. I won't let you down."
