Georgiana’s P.O.V

It’s been 3 days since I witnessed Zoe’s extreme power and I was still terrified of her and of Zeke. Something inside me told me that really they were good people but no-one should have that much power. It made me question my own powers and made me glad that I didn’t know how to use them yet. I never want to be in the situation where I can’t control myself like Zoe was; I’d never trust myself again if it did happen.

Zoe was okay now and I’d been to see her while she was still in her lying in bed stage but I hadn’t seen her since she was up and moving. Let me tell you, Hades is a weird ass bloke… sorry, God. One moment he was all *I’m going to kill you with a single look* and the next he was Mr Epic-Father dude with Zoe, it was like he was bipolar or something odd like that. He gave off a weird feeling as well. I felt like I was growing physically older when I was around him, like his aura was sucking the life right out of me. Needless to say I didn’t spend much time around him. I much preferred my other uncle.

Zeke seemed to be really uncomfortable around him as well to be honest. I got the feeling he didn’t bond with his father like Zoe did and I felt sorry for him. I didn’t talk to him though, I felt safer saying away from him and watching from a far a bit like a stalker, but I’d rather that then have him call some undead dudes to kill me because I’ve said something wrong.

“Stop being so paranoid. I know your uncle H is a bit weird but you’ll just have to get used to it like the rest of us did.” I smiled, not needing to look to know my father had just arrived next to me and was doing his *just chill out* dad talk thing. “You need to use your powers Georgiana, even if it means having to train with me around. I honestly wouldn’t mind helping you. I don’t have much else to do on Olympus.”

“Fair enough.” I laughed nervously. “Dad, can I ask you a really silly question?”

“Didn’t you just ask one…?”

I rolled my eyes and hip bumped hi lightly. “You know what I mean.”

He laughed at my feeble attempt at a hip bump. “Yes, you can, Georgiana.”

“Okay, well, don’t laugh at me for thinking it but I just thought of it a few days ago and it’s been playing on my mind.” I took a deep breath. “You see how you created man and all apparently… why didn’t you flick Hitler’s head off?”

My father erupted into a huge laughing fit, holding himself up by a tree branch. I watched him laugh it all off with a raised eyebrow. He wiped a tear from his eyes and looked up at me with an amused expression. “Oh, Georgiana, I am glad you’re my daughter. I cannot flick people’s heads off, my dear; no matter how much I want to at times. And, as a matter of fact, Hitler was a son of Hades…”

I stared at him. And then I stared at him some more.

“You’re having a laugh.” I said, still staring at him.

“Not at all, dear.” He chuckled. “It’s terribly cliché isn’t it?”

“Just a tad” I huffed out, still not quite believing him. “So, training with you, huh?” I walked away from him a little.

“Yeah, training with me. Want to start just now?” I looked around to make sure no one else was around before nodding. “You’ll need to relax though, Georgiana. If anything goes wrong I can control it, okay?”

I nodded again. “Okay. But if I go crazy I blame you, kay?”

Zeus chuckled again and laughed. “You won’t go crazy Georgiana. Your powers are very different to the ones Zoe has. Her power only has the ability to overpower her because she’s drawing upon the energy of lost souls to do her bidding. You can’t do anything like that. I think the closest to that you could get would be to tap into the mind of an eagle and peck someone to death.”

“I think that’d still be fairly painful for the recipient and be freaky for me…” I stated, facing my father and standing up on the balls of my feet for a second and then resting back on the flats of my feet.

“The point is that you aren’t using something or someone else to draw your power from. It’s all inside of you baby girl.” He smiled. “What would you like to train with first?”

I thought for a second, thinking back to the day I’d first been introduced to my powers and which one had come easiest to me and which had been hardest. “Can we try the wind thingy I can do? That one seemed hardest to control last time.” I mumbled and by some miracle he heard me.

“Of course. What do you want to learn to do?”

“Um, I know it sounds silly but I thought maybe if I can use the find to lift myself up it might use less energy than actually doing my superman business? That really took it out of me when you first showed me how to do it and if it’s always going to be that tiring then maybe I should just leave it for emergencies? ”

“Excellent thought, my girl.” Zeus said, looking proud. “Well, what you need to do is clear your mind ad concentrate on the wind spinning around you and only you with enough force to pull you up off the ground but not hard enough to make you fly off in some form of hurricane disaster.”

I giggled slightly at how relaxed he seemed when he spoke about me actually using the wind to fly. Just casually not bothered if I end up flying away. But then I guess he’s not worried because he’d be able to catch me if that happened. I closed my eyes and started to clear my mind off all of the worrying I’d been doing over the last few days and breathed evenly. I thought about the wind being a cocoon around me and felt the wind pick up, whipping my hair around my face. I felt my concentration slip a little but managed to regain control and forced the winds to go faster around me. Once I felt secure in my wind cocoon I willed it to lift up off of the ground by a meter. I gasped when I felt my feet lift up off of the ground but managed to only wobble a little through lack of concentration.

“Hold it, Georgiana, you’re doing so well.”

I smiled and breathed out slowly, levelling out and hovering in a more stable fashion. I opened my eyes slowly, keeping my mind focused and it was the most amazing feeling ever. I looked down slightly to see that I wasn’t too far off of the ground and to see that the wind around me was totally invisible, only the leaves whistling around me at high speeds made it obvious that there were any winds at all, the rest of the grounds looked untouched and just as settled and sunny as before. I’d done it.
