Chapter 7: She looked Homeless

I went to my locker and stuff my backpack inside. When I closed my locker, Billy came.
"Morning Peter." I get my chemistry binder and walk to class. Billy catches up.

"Are you ready?" "Ready for what Billy?" I asked. "For our test duh." I stopped. Yesterday night, Kailey came to my house for our study group. Honestly, I didnt pay attention. I stared at Kailey the whole time.

"Yeah of course."
"Did you eat breakfast?"

"Billy you're not my Dad. And yes I did." "Good. Let's go and-"

"Hey Peter", Jack said when he came and interrupted Billy's conversation. "Can I talk to you private?"

"I'll see you later.", Billy said.

Jack and I walked away from the classroom. I wondered why he wanted to talk to me. Did he think I cheated with his girl Kailey?
"Listen Peter, I just want to appreciate what you've done with Kaileys studying. You really helped her alot."
"Thats what freinds do right?" I asked.
"Yeah. How would you like to hang out with my friends and play some video games?"
I look with a serious face. "Are you playing with me? Is this some kind if your sick jokes?" Jack laughed. "Peter, im serious. Let's bring our past relationship back today please. Do you want to make Kailey happy?" I thought about. All Kailey wanted was to be back freinds and the "three musketeers" again. "Ok I'll come. But only for a short amount of time."

"Alright. I'll see you soon." He left with giving me a handshake. The bell was about to ring in 30 sec. I ran as fast as I could be at the class on time. Mr.G doesn't like students being late. As ran inside the class, my clumsy butt trip and fell on the floor. Half of the class laughed at me. Well except for Kailey. "Mr. Parker. You're just in time for our lesson. Please have a seat."  I sat down in the back as usual. While Mr.G was teaching, a student came in with dirty hair and raggy clothes. She looked homeless but I can't judge her. I dress like that once I'm home.

"Yes mam. May I help you?" Mr. G asked. "Good morning sir", she said with a strong accent. "My name is Mia and I was immigrated from Colombia."
" I don't care about your life story. Answer my question. May I help you?" She startled. I can tell she can't speak English very well.
"Umm... la gente de la oficina de recepción me dio mi horario y me dijo que mi primera clase está aquí."
The class looked confused. "Im sorry I don't understand." Kailey went up from her seat. "I understand what shes saying. She said that the people at the front office gave her a schedule and told her that her first class is here."
"Well then. Ms. Mia? Have a seat next to Kailey. Neveah sit in the back." Neveah looked in a disgust face. "What?! Why? She can sit in the back."
"Do you speak Spanish?" She nodded no. "Can you understand Spanish?" She nodded no. "Well I rest my case. Now for the last time, sit in the back." Neveah got up from her seat and walk to the back of the classroom. When she sat down, she put hit her head many times. What an idiot.

Chemistry ended and it was time for my AP Literature test. I walk to the class and sat behind Billy. Billy was scamming his vocab list front and back multiple times. I patted his shoulder. "You'll do fine the test B. Just relax." Billy turned around. "Oh I'm relaxed. So relaxed. Thanks for telling me that", he said with a sarcastic tone. I rolled my eyes and shaked my head. The bell rang and our teacher, Mrs. Henderson, came inside with the new student, Mia. "Good morning. We have a new student all the away from Colombia. This is Mia. She doesn't speak English very well but shes a very kind young lady." Mia looked for a seat to sit. "Mia, why wont you sit with another new student. What's your name sir." The students looked at me. I opened my mouth. "Mrs. Henderson. It's me Peter Parker. I was here on the first day of school. I'm not new."

"Oh I'm sorry. You look new here my apologies. Mia, you can sit next to him uh..."
"Peter", I said in slow motion. "Right. Ok then after all of that who's new who's not, lets start the test." Mrs. H went to her desk to find the test and the scantron.

"Hi. You probably don't me", i said. "But I-"

"You're the cute kid in my Chemistry class", she said. I blushed.

"Uh yeah. I'm Peter Parker"
"Nice to meet you. I'm Mia Rodriguez." We shook hands." Alright. Test is out that means no talking. Mia, if you would like to stay outside and not take the test I'm okay with that. " Mia looked up with a pretty smile.
"I can take it."
"Are you sure? You haven't even read the vocab." She nodded. "Okay then." She handed the test to her.

After about 5 min, Mia stood up from her seat and turn in the test and scantron.  Her scantron were completely filled in. 10 min later, another student turn theres in. Then another.  Then another. And everyone in the class finished the test.  Except me.

"Well I be darned", Mrs. H said. "Ms. Rodriguez did you attend school in Colombia?" She nodded with a smile."You have to be my first student who didn't study for a test, got a 100 on it, and finished it in 5 min." The class applauded except for Billy.

"I cant believe that girl got an 100 on test. She probably cheated." 
"Why would you think Mia cheated in 5 min?" He shrugged.
"Aye Peter! Come sit with us." I turned at the popular table then looked at Billy. "Go ahead", he said. Without hesitation, I walked to the populars table. I was this close to be one of them and winning the bet. The two boulder twins didnt stop me. They just looked at me with confused faces. I took a step at the stairs one by one slowly. Kailey looked at me with her pretty eyes and warm smile. I took a seat. The chairs were much better than the benches we use at our table. I looked at everyone. People looked silent and started whispering. "You wanted to see me?" I asked.

"Yes. This is your new table Peter." A glass  shattered. The teens in the cafeteria gasped.

"So know you're one of them huh?" Billy said as we look for a book in the school library. "Billy what are talking about?"
"The populars are now after you. Ever since we invited Kailey, the cool kids keep popping out of no where and changing you into a different person."
"I'm not going to change. Besides, I only sat at there table once. It's not like I'm sitting there everyday."
"Did you not hear what that Jackass said?! He told you its your new table which means your one of them!" Ms. Read shushed us for being loud.

"Like I said, I'm not going to change." "Really?"
"Yes." I grabbed the book and went to the checkout desk. As I went, I saw Kailey having a talk with Jack. And you if you know me, I'm nosey and listen to other people's conversations.

"You promised you'll come to meet my mom if she was okay." she said. "I know. But after practice my parents are taking me to their award ceremony for my Dad's accomplishment for engineering. I tried to tell them about your mom but they didnt listen. I'm really sorry baby." Jack kissed Kailey in the lips and left.

"Thats funny", I said. "Whats funny?"
"Jack invited me to his house and play games with his friends. But he just told Kailey that he's going to an award ceremony with his parents." Billy open his mouth wide. "Wait....that means...."
"It means he's either cheating on her, or he wants some time alone."
"Well the second one might be true. I mean they've been together for 3 years. If I was Jack, I will have some guy time", said Billy.
"I get that. But lying to your girlfriend?  Is it really necessary? Just tell her the truth."

When my book was checked out, I went to see Kailey. As I was walking, two teens grabbed Billy and I and took us inside the book aisle.

"Hey!"

I wanted to add more stuff,  but I think this length is fine.  How do you like about our new character, Mia? You'll get to know her more. She'll either be sneaky or kind. As I always say PEACE!!!
