I woke up and scanned the place with confusion. "Where am I," I asked myself. The room looked like a hospital, but smaller. A young lady, with scrubs on, came to me. "You're in the nurse room Hun,"she said with a southern accent. "A student suspected that you were on the floor unconscious."
"Am I okay?"
"Your fine. However, I contacted your father if he was available to pick you up. You should head down to your locker and pick your belongings."
"But my car?"
She smiled. "Your vehicle will remain in the student parking lot till you're ready to drive again."

My father came in the front office after numerous of sleeping and feeling whoozy. We both headed out and came inside his truck.
"How's work?" I questioned.
"Forget about my job Peter. Your health and safety is more important. Tell me what happended."
"Well right before I fell, Mia and I had a small argument. I was being interviewed by the school press and she thought I was cheating on her."
He looked puzzled "I didn't know you have girlfriend."
"Neither did I."
He turned to me with a puzzled face. We both laughed.
"Is that all you can remeber?"
I nodded. We drove home and parked on the driveway. I went upstairs, into my room feeling lightheaded. "Hey buddy." I played with Sparky for awhile.
Why would Mia be mad at me for talking to another girl? Not to mention that we aren't dating. We both agreed to take things slow.
I tried texting her, no reply. I then called her numerous times. She didn't pick up. I was afraid she might hurt herself because of me. I did not want anything wrong happening to her.

I heard a knock on my door. "Come in." Dad came into my room with a big smile on his face.
What's wrong with him?

"Hey Peter. Someone's here to see you."
I got up from my bed, went downstairs, and enter the kitchen.
"Kailey?" I questioned. "It's nice seeing you?"
"Nice to see you again Peter," she said in a tense voice.
Rude.
"Mia wanted to tell you that she's deeply sorry what happened today. She felt dissapointed in herself."
"No worries. How is she anyway?"
"She's good. Been an angel ever since she stepped to our home. Helping me with homework and everything with Demetrius."
"She came a long way." We both laughed lightly.
"Would you like to stay for dinner? I'm making lobster thermidor," I suggested
"I thought you hate seafood."
"Oh I do. Except shrimp, crab and lobster." I could never have a life without those sea critters."
"You know, there are things you've been different once we stopped being friends."

You mean abandoning me just cause I made him disqualified from his soccer tryouts (which I didn't)? Yeah sure.

I gather the supplies while having a conversation with Kailey. Zeke, my older brother, came home from whatever he went and walked into the kitchen.
"Smells like heaven in here." He looked towards Kailey sitting on the barstool. "Wow. It's been three years since I've seen you." They both hugged and giggled. "How are you?"
"I'm good," she replied. She observed Zeke's clothes. "I see that you went back to art."
"Yeah. Majoring in Economics wasn't my thing. So I dropped out and here I am." I put the plates down on the table while talking.
"A 21 year old man living under his father's roof, unemployed, and makes paintings. Yep. Here you are."
He pointed his finger towards me. "Watch your mouth Parker. We have a guest here. And I don't think it's polite to say dumb shit to her. Especially in front of your crush. So before you start opening your crusty lips, think some words that come out bitch."

I rolled my eyes and called out for dinner.

"Alright, let's dig in." Dad said. Zeke stick his food onto his mouth like he hadn't eaten in days.
"Gross," I said.
"Shut the f-"
"Language everyone," Dad said staring at us.
"So uh Kailey, what do you at school?" He asked.
"Well, I'm the captain of the volleyball team, member of the N.H.S, and also the president of the Red Cross Club."
"Amazing," Zeke said. "That's three times the activities Peter does. Oh wait. Peter doesn't participate in ANY activity in school."

I smiled at him and pulled a middle finger.

"Well how's your mother? Is she getting any better from the sickness?"
There was silence for minutes. Kailey's face started to turn red and felt that she was about to cry. I padded her back gently. My dad got up from his seat and hugged her delicately.
"Um...she.....is.....at the hospital. They said she might not make it till late December." She started to cry.
"I'm sorry, may I used the bathroom."

"Of course. Your family. You don't have to ask if you want to be excused," Dad said.

Zeke cleaned up the dinner table and washed the plates. He then went to the front door with a weed. "When are you going to stop smoking?" I asked. He turned around.
"When you become president and ban marijuana from the United States, thats when I'll stop smoking weed."
"You barely listen to me now, why would why would you think you'll obey my rules when I'm there?"
He paused. "Your right." He slammed the door.

Idiot.

I heard a buzzing sound from the kitchen. I checked whose phone is it. Obviously, it was Kailey. I picked up the phone and lanswered it.

"Hello?"
"Hello? Who the hell is this?" the caller said.
"Peter Parker?"
"Peter, where's Kailey?"
"In the bathroom. Who is this?"
"Focus on this voice. Who do you think it is?"
Jack.
"You can call her later Jack. She's busy."
"Why is she with you? I'm behind her gate for her to open it since Mr. D isn't there."

"She'll tell you when she's home. Bye."

This is going to be a long week.

I hope everyone is having a great day or week. My apologies for publishing this chapter late. It takes me much time for ideas.
