Nobody to Somebody

Chapter 8: She thinks I'm Cute?

We sat down looking at the teens. These two had black hair, greenish eyes. They wore black and white clothing. And then I knew who they were.

"What are you two dorks doing here?" asked Cotton. sigh.

"We were just checking out a book. What would you you think we're here for?" I said.

She looked at the table where Kailey was sitting. "I thought you were having a conversation with Kailey."

"What made you think I was?"

"Don't act dumb Peter. You were about to talk to her after you heard theyre conversation."

"Whats wrong with Peter talking to her? Are they not friends?" Billy asked.

"Look, they're 3 more weeks until homecoming. You first talked to Kailey, then you invited her to your house for some study date-"

"Wait holdup! How did you know Kailey went to my house?"

"I'm Cotton. I know things. Anyways, you invited her to your house, and now Jack wants to talk you? Do you know what that means?"

"No?" I said.

"It means that youre leading! Ugh Peter i thought you were smarter than this."

"You see Cotton? Im already winning. Now if you will excuse me." I pushed the two twins and walked to the center of the library near the tables. "I'll finish what I should've started in the beginning before you monkeys interrupted me."

"Hey Kailey."

"Hey Peter." She turned and looked at Billy.
"You probably dont remember me but I-"
"Your Billy from the study group. I remeber you", said Kailey.

Billy blushed then smile. How cute of him.

"Are you okay?" I asked. "You texted like you were down. Is everything alright?"

"No everything isn't right." Billy and I sat down across from her table to listen.

"My mother is sick from Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and she's getting weaker every day. We try to call the doctor, but they say theres no cure. I asked my dad if we can fly to another country to see if they have a cure, but he says that too risky. I love my mom very much and I don't to lose her."

She starts crying. Shes sobing. Sobing so hard the tears fly to the table. I really felt bad. I went up from my seat and hugged. She then pulled me tighter. I looked at Billy. He was in another planet. But tears coming out of him also.

"I know what its like to lose a loved one."
"I'm a victim as well" said Billy.

"I lost my parents from a car accident after my dad picked my mom and I from the hospital days after my mom gave birth to me."

There was silence.

"Billy.......I'm so sorry for you loss."
"It's okay Kailey. I never really experianced parents before. I hardly knew them."
"Who do you live with?" asked Kailey.
"I live with my Grandparents. My moms side. But I call them my parents because they raised me."

"They raised a intelligent kid." Billy smiled. So did Kailey.

While Kailey amd Billy remove the tears from their eyes, Mia came in the library.

"Hey Mia", I said while waving my hand for her to notice me.
"Hello." she said. "I was just looking for an English translate book."
"You can check one at the counter", Billy said in a tense voice.
"Okay." She went to the counter to find the book.
"Wait a minute." I said. "There isn't a translator book at the counter."

"Billy stop being an asshole." I stood up and helped Mia get her book.

"Thank you Peter", Mia said while she took the book from me. We both went back to the table and sat down. Billy had a jealous face while Kailey smiled at us. What is wrong with these two."

Mia looked at her watched and gasp. "Oh gosh", Mia said. 

"Whats wrong?"
"I have to go. It was nice seeing you again Kailey and Peter. Goodbye little boy."

Billy looked up with a surprised face. after Mia left the library, Billy stood up fast and quickly get his backpack. 

"It Billy you peice of-"
"WILLIAM." I said. 

"I'll be outside waiting for you to take me home."

After Billy left, Kailey stared at me then smiled. I smiled back. 

"What?" I said.
"The way Mia was looking at you...."

"No Kailey. We just met." if she thinks I like Mia, shes wrong. The only person I like is Kailey. 

Oh com'on Peter. I'm pretty sure she thinks your attractive. I don't blame her."

Does she thinks I'm cute?

"Stop. Please"

"Are you sure Parker?" she asked while she left the library. I ran up to her.

"So...I'll see you in the evening.?"

"Yes. Bye Peter." Kailey left the school. i looked at her while she was leaving. Kailey was my everything. I really like her and I don't want to loose her. 

"Are you taking me home now?"

 "Hey Grandma" Billy said. 

"Well Hello William", Grandma Aggie  said. she then looked at me. "Peter, it's nice seeing you again." 

I smiled. 

"Please come in."

"Its my house grandma. you don't need to tell me to come in." 

"Is that so?" a deep voice said. 

 "Grandpa you're back!" Billy said. George, Billy's Grandfather, served in the Air Force for almost 3 decades. He attended MIT for engineering then entered the air force. That was his dream but his own father didn't allow it. George's dad wanted him to be a bioengineer. I guessed that's why he got a degree.  I never see him alot. But when I do, he will always have a grumpy face. He probably thinks I'm a bad influence to billy. But im not as bad as the f-boys and gangster you see on social media and TV.

As he went downstairs, you can her the ground shaking. he was a tall, muscular man, with brown hair and mustache. he normally wears nature color like green. 

"How you doing son?" George said.
"Never been better. How was Japan?"
"It was beautiful. I really wished you were there."

"Sir", I said while walking to him slowly. "It's been 3 years since you met me. Im Peter."

"Yes I know who you are." George said with his deep horrifying voice.

"How was-"
"I've already answered the question junior." 

There was silence. Awkward silence. Billy's eyes were wide while he was looking around. I was looking at the floor and Mr. Sawyer (George) was giving me a death stare. Thankfully, Ms. Aggy announced that dinner is ready. 

"Actually Grandma I can't eat today. I'm heading to an old friend's house."

"Its probably an annihilator."

Grandma, Billy, and I all stared at him. He then apologized what he said and went to his room. 

I hugged grandma and Billy and headed my way to Kaileys house.
