On the last night of the HembuckleHigh School's choir tour we stayed up all night. Cassie and I made sure of it. We walked from room to room in the hotel we stayed and kept everyone awake. We did all we could to keep them awake, from starting several karaoke singing competitions to annoying some of our very own Barbies so much that they chased after us with their cheap-smelling hairspray, though we made sure to avoid Mrs. Delia's room. She was fine with us joking around, but the second we joked with her... let's just say she isn't afraid to use a machete on us.

"Zaili! What's up, bitch?" Liliana yelled from the window. I eyed her warily, my heart thumping away in my chest. Ahe is most probably one of the bravest people I have ever met, sitting there like she wasn't on the 12th floor... damn.

"Oh! Is that how it's gonna be? Well, come at me!" I yelled, opening my arms wide.

"Here I come!" she yells and start sprinting across the room. The impact felt as if a fly hiccuped, she's that tiny. I laughed and let her climb on my back, her shrieking all the way. Cassie and I, with Liliana strapped to my back, proceeded to run down the hall. To be fair, I didn't think the corridors were registration approved... it was the hotel's fault that they're so narrow. And Liliana was strangling me so I was a bit too preoccupied with breathing to watch where I was going, so the old lady that suddenly just appeared in front of us was completely surprised when three delusional girls ran right up to her and proceeded through her. It was just a mess of limbs and hair as we all fell everywhere. The old lady just made those strange noises that only the elderly can manage.

"Agh!" I screamed as someone pulled me out of the human shoelace tangle, down the hall and into a room.

"Shh!"

Mentally facepalming myself, I glare up at Blake and took his hand for him to pull me up.

"I has saved you, m'lady!" he yelled, and I rolled my eyes at his ridiculously incorrect speech. "How can thee be more honored?!" he whispered, cockily.

" When you are done stroking your ego... I would like to thank you..."

"For what?" he looks at me expectantly.

"For saving me from being dragged down to hotel management and being expelled or getting like detention or kicked out of the choir or something..." I mumbled.

He smiled, " Well, I wouldn't want to miss any quality time with you..."

"You flirt!" I teased and oh-so-slightly pushed him a bit away. Glancing around I observe his room. Scrunching my nose up I just watch him quiestionily. He shrugs and blushes-insert blush of my own here-and shrugs some more.

"Clean?" I ask.

"Well, I don't like to live like a sewage rat... I like the neatness of this..." he mumbles.

"Well, isn't that adorable?" I mock him playfully.

"I don't know..." he says. "Is it?" He looks down down at me at me, swiping at his hair annoyedly as it hangs into his eyes.

"Hey, hey, what did I tell you?" I say swatting his hands away. "Anger and frustration..." I begin.

"Are not taken out on the hair," he finishes, glancing at me like I am the ridiculous one. I push and pull his hair into place so it falls perfectly just above his eyebrows.

"I'm not hurting you, right?" I ask warily.

"No. I am a man, therefore the ways of your feminism will not affect me in any way. I refuse to let it get to me," he says in a hilariously deep voice. I just roll my eyes.

I look at him all serious like.

"You do not have that thing, do you?" I ask.

"Nope", he says, popping the 'p'.

"I love how well you understand me. It makes me feel as you and I are connected in a way better than other friend are, like when I just said that, you knew exactly what I meant, no questions asked," I say happily.

"Well, yeah," he says. "Everyone knows I don't have any intelligence!"

"That is not what I meant!" I gasp. "Who has told you that?! I swear, I will rip them apart limb from limb! Who was it?!"

"As fun as it would be to watch that, I do not think Mr. Rennings will appreciate that. At all."

"I do not give a damn! Who does he think he is for telling you that you have no intelligence? I will make him regret it!"

"Hey, hey," he steps forward, pulling me into a hug. I froze. "Zaili, you can't beat everyone up. Don't worry about it, okay? It doesn't even matter to me anyhow. I was just making a joke. I knew you meant that about the voice in your head that overpowers the idiot voice in your mouth. I get it. And I'm fine, okay? But away your karate clothes."

"Okay, okay," I say hastily, trying to get out of the hug, since the walls have started to look like they were shaking. His room suddenly felt tiny. I needed more space to be breathe. Just smiling at him, I cock my head towards the door, knowing I don't even have to say a word for him to understand. He nods. He always gets it with me. I turn and open the door.

"Thanks," I say, flashing him a quick smile before closing the door. And as I do, I see something in hus eyes. Just a flash of desperation. It made my heart flutter. Immediately I tried to stop the feeling. I was not allowed to feel like this with Blake. Alpha's said so himself.
